Mrs. Bee Randomness

October 18th, 2006 @ 10:03 pm by Mrs. Bee

Hi everyone!

Just a little bit of Mrs. Bee news:

I’ll be at the Ladies Who Launch Live event all day tomorrow so if you’re attending, please say hello! It’s a great event for female enterpreneurs and if you’re interested in networking or starting your own business, you should definitely check it out. I’ll also be in the fashion show so you might even be able to see me fall (an eye infection is preventing me from wearing contacts so this is actually highly likely).

I popped into Bloomies today and bought a pair of Higher Power Spanx because I’d been wanting a pair for a while. Ok if I’m being totally honest I was thinking about wearing them to the LWL event, but decided not to since I’ll be wearing all black. OK if I’m being even more honest I’m not wearing them because I’m going to have to change in front of all the other women for the fashion show and they’re going to see my Spanx. blush2.gif

I’d heard that they were super duper tight - they even come with an expandable hole in the crotch so you don’t have to take them off when you go to the bathroom. So I tried them on but they weren’t that uncomfortable and it certainly helped to smooth out my tummy bulge. I think I will be wearing these until I can turn my one pack into a six pack.

Speaking of losing weight, my cold is finally gone so I wanted to start up the vow to be fit program again. But the 9 day plan is going to overlap with the costume party Mr. Bee and I are attending, so for the love of Halloween I had to sacrifice the diet. I’ve set a new start date of November 1st and will keep you guys updated with all my progress.

And finally here’s an aim conversation between me and Mr. Bee about today’s reader buzz on dying:

Mr. Bee: man u r always busting on me for the notebook. i take it back!
Mrs. Bee: hahahaha
Mrs. Bee: hey many men confessed that they liked it
Mr. Bee: u can’t be telling ppl that stuff
Mr. Bee: sure i confessed to my wife. what about marital privilege?
Mrs. Bee: lol this is going on weddingbee
Mr. Bee: betrayed again!

Have a wonderful night everyone!

Hi Bee,

Please continue doing a great job with the weddingbee! I now, have a question… Watch it it’s lengthy!

I’ve had this dilemma for a really long time, but it wasn’t until now that I’ve had to deal with it. My father has raised me. I am and will always be Daddy’s little girl. I’ve been closer to my dad than I have been with my mom for most of my life. It was only until I became a mther myself that I truly turned to my mom.

My mom remarried about 10 years ago to my godfather and he has played a very active role in my life. Whenever I have problems with my mom or my brother I can usually turn to him for advice or help. There are even a lot of things that I’ve told him that I could not have ever told my dad due to the pain it would bring my dad.

Now, due to my dad’s health, Theo and I decided to get married a lot earlier than expected. On the other hand, my mom mentioned my stepfather also walking me down the aisle. It is only fair… But a big part of me says that it should only be my dad. However, Daddy did teach me to make peace (when it comes to my stepmom) so it would only be fair when it came to my stepdad… Plus, I can’t help but say he really is a good man… I think he’s a little sad about not being able to walk me down the aisle!

I had a short conversation with my dad about it and he was first of all shocked and secondly, totally against it… So now, I’m a bit mindboggled as to what to do when it comes to who is walking me down the aisle…

My Daddy or My Daddy and my stepdad…

Any suggestions??? I am in need of advice!

I love Spanx, both Power Panties and Higher Power. I think they’re tight in a good way and I don’t find them uncomfortable. I wear them all the time. I don’t think there would be any reason to be embarrassed showing them off to a group of successful women who care about how they look. They probably wear Spanx too. Men, on the other hand, still don’t know what they are. I was walking with my husband recently when a gust of wind blew up my skirt. He and everyone nearby got a good view of my Spanx. When I got my skirt down, my husband whispered in my ear:”um, honey, I think you showed everybody your girdle.” I couldn’t stop laughing until we got back to the car.
