About Mrs. Blueberry

Standstill

October 19th, 2006 @ 6:43 pm by Mrs. Blueberry

Do you ever feel like your wedding planning is at a standstill? Since we started planning in May, I’ve gone through “spurts” of wedding planning–go nuts for a few weeks, then stop completely. Only now when I stop completely I’m having a harder time getting started back up again.

Methinks I need to purchase something to inspire and motivate myself. Sadly, my cruddy little college town is sorely lacking in craft stores (we’ve got a Wal-Mart and that’s IT), but I may see what I can come up with there. All my supplies for projects are in KC except my luminaries and the non wedding-related project: the living room curtains (which aren’t turning out like I’d hoped–ARGH!).

Or maybe I’ll just save my $$ and sit here and twiddle my thumbs for a while. :D As long as I’m doing *something* with my hands I should be happy, right?

Sadly, I know exactly what you’re talking about. I hate the standstill, the spurt pattern, and the need to have to get crafty when you’re in between spurts. I’m at a standstill waiting to decide on contract details with my ceremony/reception venue and I’m even having bad dreams about it. I sent my Bmaids cards in February asking if they’ll be in my wedding and since then I’ve only been venue hunting and still haven’t signed anything to be able to say I have a venue!! Whew, I’m glad I got that off my chest. I feel your angst, sister. Thanks for the post.

Wal Mart has lots of deals on the glassware for centerpieces and what not…but I understand, in my old college town we had a ShopKo and had to travel across the state border to Idaho to get to Michaels and WalMart. ;O)

You and I are exactly the same. I go in spurts and usually gain energy from a single find or purchase! It’s okay, you’re not alone, and hopefully through the bee you’ll find a couple new ideas you like and want to follow through with.

I completely understand what you are talking about. I’m having to order everything online for my crafts or wait until I go home to Bardstown to get what I need from Michaels or the scrapbook store. The spurts drive me crazy as well. I can’t get much done at school since I’m concentrating on schoolwork, so I have two days here and there to do wedding stuff.

Good Luck!

Dude, I totally understand!!!
I’m in a stand still now! My type A side says that I need to get on the ball, my financial side says yeah right, and my unknown side says “we’ll start tomorrow”. I really thought I was alone. I’m glad cuz misery loves company:)

I’m totally at a standstill. I hate it, cuz I’ve gotten all of my vendors booked so now all the details just kind of “have to wait”. It’s too soon to do some stuff, so I end up not doing anything for like, weeks and weeks.

This is the beauty of the internet, online shopping for craft supplies and/or wedding related items is without end. And inspiration
