Bridesmaid dress designer Kathlin Argiro coordinated the fashion show for the Ladies Who Launch Live event this past Thursday. At the practice run a couple of days earlier, Courteney (who works with Kathlin) was wearing this fabulous number called the Blair:

I immediately fell in love with it and thought it’d make such a cool bridesmaid dress. The pleats, the flower pin on the collar - it was so adorable and definitely wearable again. It reminded me of those great retro bridesmaid photos Mrs. Firefly posted awhile back.

Anyway I was so excited when I found out that I would be wearing the Blair dress (but in purple) in the fashion show!

This is Kathlin in the red version in a recent Naturalizer catalog, standing beside one of her bridesmaid dresses.

I got to keep the dress and the Naturalizer shoes I wore in the show, and Naturalizer (who sponsored the show) even gave everyone who attended a gift certificate for a free pair of shoes! Free clothes and shoes - who could ask for anything more, Toyota!

I’ll have a more extensive writeup of the Ladies Who Launch event coming up - it was truly fabulous and I highly recommend you attend next year.

But for now I’d like to tell you the story of how Kathlin and I met. Someone introduced us at a Ladies Who Launch event back in June. Then I saw this fabulous dress in Brides magazine and had to know more about the designer, so I googled Kathlin’s name.

See, I am the worst person in the world when it comes to remembering names and faces. When I googled Kathlin, her profile on Ladies Who Launch came up and that’s when I realized we had already met. So I emailed her to tell her that I loved her dresses, she invited me to come check out her sample sale where I bought a couple of things, and we’ve been friends ever since. I really do love Kathlin and her dresses so it works out great.

I’m thinking about wearing that Hailey dress above to Miss Butterfly’s wedding. What do you think?
