My mother is in love with George Washington. Quite literally. If George was a living, breathing man–she would leave my father in a heartbeat. My name could have been Georgina–heaven help me. Her obsession with all things George began when she was a historian at Mount Vernon, the home of our first President. The Rainier Chapter House of the D.A.R. (Daughters of the American Revolution) is an exact replica of the home. When we first began looking for a wedding venue, my mother thought she had died and gone to heaven when we stumbled upon this little gem.

Unfortunately for my mother, I’m incredibly anal. They have blue china. My colors are pink and brown. I wanted pink and brown linens. Blue just wouldn’t do.
