Tiny Bells

October 23rd, 2006 @ 11:25 am by Mrs. Butterfly

Remember my idea about mini-bells for the menus? Well, they’re finally in and I love them! Look how small they are!

Here is the final product.

Please ignore the fact that there are about 6 holes where the bells are. You see, I always imagined that I would have two tiny holes side by side, centered above the “Just Married!” However, it turns out that the hole puncher doesn’t go in that far. So I tried forcing the paper in, and that’s how I ended up with the ugly lines on the left side of the page.

I actually got pretty upset over this for about 5 minutes. Had I known that the hole puncher would not let the paper in more, then I would have moved the “Just Married” over to the left another inch so that the bells would be centered! Alas, it is not meant to be, as I have already approved the menu for printing. *sigh* I shall just have to live with the un-centered bells.

Only brides would notice these things, no? Hopefully no one else will notice this at the wedding (except obviously the people who read this blog - oops!)

They look great! Don’t worry about them being off-center at all. You’re right that no one will notice!

That is just as cute as can be!!! And I actually think they look even nicer a little off-centered! :-) It works well with your zig-zaggy overall theme!

I agree that no one else will notice…

BUT

as a fellow perfectionist, I realize that it’s hard to settle for less than you envisioned. So if it’s not too late (i.e. you haven’t already punched all your menus) you could go to the craft store and buy an “anywhere hole punch” like this one:

My hole punch (from Michael’s) came with interchangeable tips to make three sizes of holes, plus eyelet-setting tips. Very useful!

Miss BOP, we’re thinking along the same lines!

And I think the tool Miss BOP found is the exact one I own.

i’m with nl…i even notice when things are off-center in museums no less. but i’m also incredibly perfectionistically anal as well so no one pays any attention to me when i notice those things.

but the average person won’t notice and with that handy dandy tool, you won’t even have to worry about it. though i do like it off-centered like that. it works.

They sell hole punches, in craft stores, that have an extended arm. The one on this page has a 3″ reach http://www.stampin.com/online/accs/punch.htm

Another item http://www.provocraft.com/products/detail.php?cl=pc%20tools&scl=silent%20setter&cat=&item=19-1035 this is so easy to use. Just put the correct size tip in and push and twist.

The long reach punches and the setter can also be found at the local craft store. Remember to use a coupon.

I think they look adorable just as they are. I also think that if you try to center it will be a little too close to the engagement part!
Good Luck^_^!
