But you gotta admit, her wedding was pretty awesome. :P

This is a bar made completely of ice - they had a “fire and ice theme.”

There’s the fire.

Don’t you love everyone’s first reactions?

They had their reception in a wine cave of a winery and covered the inside of the cave with a tarp-like thing because it was raining outside, (dripping) and then lit it up with red and white lights.

Very pretty–lots of great ideas!

But I hope I’m not the only one who can’t see how it could come to 300K. I know it’s all in the details, but still…a lot of flowers and some fancy foods are the only real extravagence I can see.

Am I wrong in this? How did they spend 300K on this?

I saw that wedding on Style. He almost called of the wedding because she spent too much. The complaint was that she was putting their goals about 10 years behind. Maybe she should have planned a more simple wedding.

The invites were like $200 a piece. And everything in that cave was rented at a premium price, down to the forks. Apparently, she was “interesting” to work with.

It must be in the things you don’t see as well, like photography, wedding planner, other services, etc. But I agree with Miss Blueberry! $300K is a bit much.

Miss Blueberry-I think it was all in the reception set-up. And look at that cake! Granted, I’m not engaged so I don’t really have an idea of how much weddings cost, but that pedestaled flower arrangement by the door looks pretty damn crazy to me.

Maybe it’s the location? I know food is usually the biggest expense. That could be where all the money went considering they had individual sized campagne bottles, an ice bar, a fire thing, etc. The jewelry and the dress could be expensive too.

It’s a very nice wedding, but I’ve seen a lot of nice weddings for much less money. That is a lot of money for a wedding. I’m very practical, but $300,000 can buy a small house here in my city and I would choose a house any day.

Whoa. We’re not even spending $30K on our wedding.

This was in a magazine? They must be a bit older - I can’t think of a single person in their 20s that could afford such an affair.

That wedding was on Whose Wedding is it Anyways? If I remember correctly, the woman spent all this money and was dishonest with her fiance about it. I would bet a lot of money was spent on caterering and design/rentals. If you have the money to spend without going into debt, I say go for it. However, I didn’t think that this wedding was any more detailed or lush than our wedding which cost 15% of it.

Is there a link to the story? I need to read all the gory details…

And I second Miss Blueberry’s “how is this a 300K wedding?” puzzlement; it could definitely have been done for less!

That’s just ridiculous…it doesn’t matter how it ends up looking, if you had to lie to your fiance to get it to look like that. :(

ooo…she lied to her fiance? No wonder he almost cancelled. The lying is already bad enough, but that’s a LOT of money to lie about

Wow, that IS gorgeous! But I simply can not justify spending so much on one day for a wedding.

Also, I wonder if she made the bridesmaids pay for their own dresses; I hope not!

it could definitely have been done for 300k if you break everything down: tent rentals, venue fees, wedding planner, lighting designer, ice sculptor (for multiple sculptures, premium floral design, luxury linens, china, crystal and silverware, tons of fancy hor devres, full premium bar, individual champagne serving bottles, silk flower girl dresses, etc -

tent rental alone starts at $15k-20k. Flowers easily run into the 12k’s, food easily 20k, lighting maybe 5kish, linens, anywhere around 6k, chair rentals, etc. The cake itself was probably 3kish due to the level of detail.

but you’re totally right - she was making me mad by the end of the episode bc of her bratty demands/drama with her fiance!

what kind of person could put up with all of that?!

I remember seeing this on the Style Network. The cave was leaking and stuff because of the rain, and the fiance wasn’t very happy with the price tag! My fiance watched it with me and said not to get any ideas. 300,000!!!! That’s insane!
