7 Months?!?!

October 25th, 2006 @ 2:06 pm by Mrs. Blueberry

7 months to go!!! I’m so excited!

And this is quickly followed by…

Holy crap I haven’t done anything!!!

Well, that’s not quite true…I have…um…made three more luminaries! And I have…fixed my bouquets! Sort of. And we both found wedding rings!

whatevah.gif

That is definitely *not* a month’s worth of accomplishments!

But what is there left to do? I’ve hired everyone except the officiant (fairly important, lol) and videographer. I need to reserve the rooms. And finish the luminaries. And make the cake stands. And…oh there’s so much left to do!

7 months is such a tricky time, though. Because it’s still “Hey, 7 months…lots of time left!” By now, you’ve probably taken care of the major stuff and maybe many of your DIY projects or details, but it seems like no matter how much you accomplish there’s still more to do. And 7 months is a *lot* less than 11 months, which is when I started planning. Eep!

I was hoping this would be a happier post. Now all I want to do is curl up in bed with my plastic container of provel cheese and escape from the world.

Damn, girl, you are DIY crazy. No one I know getting married has as much faith in their talents as you do. I think you’re doing great!

All I can say is, I feel your pain. I feel like I’m at the stage where I’ve got all my “big” stuff done and vendors booked, but my list is long and full of details that have to be done…but where/when to begin! Everyone keeps telling me I have tons of time and I should enjoy a break from wedding planning…but they don’t see my long list staring at them everyday! It’s a vicious cycle.

Don’t worry! =) Think of it as over a half a year. You’ll be fine! (Fellow DIY queen wannabes… unite!)

Thanks for reminding me how far behind I am. Our wedding is booked for June 30th so that gives me 8 months. This is what I’ve done so far: booked the venue. Maybe I should get started soon? You think???

I feel you! I have 7 months left too. I have most of the big things done but have been in a wedding planning rut (i blame working full time and taking classes 2 nights a week) and laziness. Still so much more to do. Just a little at a time and you’ll be done in no time.
