For those that don’t know me personally, one of the many nicknames I have is Frodo. Mainly because I am vertically challenged (5′2″).

Anyway I found a picture online that’s similar to my wedding band:

Two eternity bands in white gold with a total of 1 carats in diamonds all stacked together. It is thin enough to beautifully complement my delicate engagement ring. I wanted to go with platinum but the jeweler suggested I set it in white gold because platinum would’ve been too soft. What an honest jeweler! A great big thanks to my girl, Jenny and her “Korean” skills because she got us a great deal on the wedding bands.

I love that ring. This is almost exactly what I’m looking for. I take it that you got it from a local jewler in NYC? I’m having trouble finding this same thing in LA from a nice quality place for a reasonable price. The only place that had this available in store to look at was $3000 for one band! And that was with a
“discount”, sheesh! That’s more than our budget for both of our rings. Sucks for me.

hey! my ring pretty much looks exactly like that. but one thing… the various jewelers we talked to told us the exact opposite–that we should definitely get it in platinum b/c white gold would be too soft. and i could be wrong, definitely, but i always percieved platinum to be much more durable and harder than gold. ah…

anyway, we ended up with a band that looks almost identical to that. it’s a mark patterson design from michael c. fina in the city.

beautiful band! that style is part of my top 3 choices for a w.band. i was just wondering what are the main differences b/t white gold and platinum for your wedding band b/c i was under the notion that platinum lasts longer than wg? i know platinum gets scratched more than wg… i’m confused as to which metal to opt for
