About Mrs. Raspberry

We really wanted to go to Thailand, but we want to go for a couple of weeks and won’t be able to do that, so we have decided to take a mini-honeymoon now, and go to Thailand next year.

So, we will be off to Montreal! I have never been and can’t wait. Mr. Raspberry is in charge of all of the planning for the honeymoon, but I couldn’t help but do a little research on restaurants and hotels. Daily Candy did a piece on Montreal a little while ago, with some great restaurant recommendations. You can read it here.

Things I want to see:

Have you been to Montreal? If so, we are looking for restaurants and suggestions for anywhere that we can’t miss!

Looks amazing! And from one July bride to another (I think you are?) I have no idea where to go! FI is at the helm for our honeymoon, too. You’ll have a great time! Best wishes!

I love, love, love Montreal! It’s a little bit of Europe in North America. We’re off to Banff for our honeymoon next October. Glad to see someone else is planning on visiting our northern neighbors!

I love Montreal! A couple of things that I love to do are: explore “old montreal” (and there’s tons of great restaurants down there), the Botanical Garden, shop down Catherine St., walk up Mont Royal… P.S. I didn’t really like the Biosphere…
Have fun!

My fiance lives in Montreal and I’ll be living there soon!

Try poutine at La Belle Province - fast food french-canadain style. Poutine is a yummy “meal” of french fries, poutine gravy, and cheese curds on top.

Tim Horton’s is better than Starbucks and cheaper!

Le Keg is a nice steak restaurant downtown.. I recommend getting the three-cheese topping on a baked potao.

Not sure where you’ll be staying, but there’s a GREAT breakfast restaurant near Brossard (there might be other locations) called Chez Cora’s. I love love love the food there, and wish I knew of a place down here that served such good breakfast.

You’re making me miss everything I love about Montreal. I really hope you enjoy your stay there! :)

Bonjour! I’m a bride who got engaged in NYC and I actually live in Montreal! You’re gonna love it here! What time of the year are u gonna be here? There’s so many festivals in the summer.

I read Weddingbee every day. It’s such a lovely surprise to read about my hometown!

The cool stylish restaurants are on st-laurent boulevard near Sherbrooke St. There’s Buena Notte, Sofia, Globe. Latini is a really good italian restaurant. Les Chevres is french.
Try one of the BYOW(bring your own wine) restaurants on Duluth st. http://www.restomontreal.ca

boutique hotels: Hotel St-Paul, Hotel St-James, W, Hotel Godin, Hotel Place d’Armes

Old Montreal is very romantic, very parisian, i’ts the favorite neighborhood for all the brides and grooms to take their wedding pictures.

shopping streets: st-catherine street, st-denis street

A bientot!

If the weather is nice, spend a day at the botanical gardens. So many beautiful flowers through out the summer and you could spend a whole day there and still not even see half of it.
