Mrs. Lemon, Los Angeles/Monterey
Age and Occupation in 06: 26, Graduate Student (Public Policy)
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Environmental Consultant
Engagement Date: April 7, 2006
Wedding Date: July 7, 2007
Venue: Rosary Chapel & Monterey Marriott, Monterey, CA
About Me: My FI and I met online, but we like to tell people that we met at a "cookie shop" which is the technical location of our first encounter. He proposed exactly 1 year, 1 month and 6 days after our first date (it's the only part of his proposal speech that I remember), and we're planning long-distance from Los Angeles for a July wedding in my hometown of Monterey, CA. I have a passion for all things "cool, cute and quirky" and I enjoy video games, reading blogs (WeddingBee, trashy celeb, consumer & political) and crafting in my spare time, if I have any!
The seasons have barely changed and I’m getting close to finishing my first cold of the winter months. It wiped out my plans for Halloween completely, as Mr. Lemon just called to tell me he’s sick today and therefore my outing to his company Halloween party is a no-go. I can’t be too mad, as he comforted me this weekend with movies, chicken soup and lots of hugs. I’m heading over to comfort him this afternoon with orange juice and popsicles and pretzels…and hopefully we’ll both be better by the weekend.
I’ve always been a big believer in finding someone who cares for you when you’re down and out, and unfortunately, my guy has already been tested quite rigorously and keeps flying with higher and higher colors. But my big requisite: HUGS. And sorbet/gelatto. You just can’t go wrong there. *sniffle*
How does your significant other comfort you when you’re sick?

About Me: My favorite activities used to include knitting, cooking, doing the crossword puzzle and about a million other relaxing pursuits. Since my engagement, well, not so much. Wedding planning has become my primary hobby. So much so that I am downgrading my work schedule to part-time in order to more fully dedicate myself to my wedding (and reality tv, as well, if I'm being honest).
Of late, I have been able to completely grasp the concept of the erstwhile Calgon ads of my youth. I have been overloaded with wedding stress over logistics (i.e. do we announce the afterparty with a postcard, or just have the band say so at the wedding?) and getting caught up in the minutiae.
Happily, yesterday was a day of no stress at all, and awesomeness abounded. That’s because Michael–the big brother I adopted for myself in college–took me on a “Miss Daisy City Adventure” that was a 100% cure for all that ailed me.

See?? Don’t I look happy!??He told me that we were having a “fancy” lunch and then we could do whatever fun bridal errands I had to do. He said not to worry about transportation…

About Me: I live in New York but I'm planning a destination wedding in Negril, Jamaica. My fiance and I are high school sweethearts!
October 31st, 2006 @ 12:01 pm by Mrs. Ant
For the first portion of my Bachelorette weekend, my girls organized a private class at Exotic Dance Central for all of us!
We warmed up with some sexy moves and practiced our “sexy walks.” Things heated up when our instructor taught us several different pole moves and tricks. We learned three different ways to swing around the pole! After bruising our inner thighs (oh boy, try explaining that one to your fiance after your Bachelorette weekend!), we split up into two groups and practiced lots of steamy lap dance moves on each other. The whole class was muuuy caliente!

Mrs. Lime, Los Angeles
Age and Occupation in 06: 25, Design
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, IT
Engagement Date: July 7, 2006
Wedding Date: August 5, 2007
Venue: An historic estate
About Me: Between work and wedding planning, I try to squeeze in napping, drawing, random spurts of craftiness, tennis, and eating lots of Sprinkles cupcakes, dark chocolate, and noodles of all kinds. Mr. Lime and I have spent our adult lives growing up together, and we're very excited to finally be getting married!
I “visited” my dress this weekend, so it inspired me to post about it. I have no closet space at my place to store the thing, so it’s currently hanging at my mom’s. Mr. Lime and I housesat for her this weekend, so he saw it too, (albeit still wrapped up in plastic. I know, I know, I shouldn’t keep it in plastic). Since he’s seen it, I might as well share with the world.
I don’t know how, but at some point early in the wedding planning process I suddently became obsessed with finding a dress. This is one thing I originally thought I’d cut back on as I tend to like clean, unfussy, modern stuff for formal dresses (heck, for everything). I came across Ulla Maija’s website, and found THE dress…at least from the pretty published pictures. It had everything I wanted - clean and sculptural, nice draping, nice back, simple (without too much beading or lace) but not too plain, a unique neckline, and an interesting train (it’s detachable, but the dress itself has a tiny sweep train, too!).

Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Student
Engagement Date: January 27, 2006
Wedding Date: March, 2007
Venue: Korean Presbyterian Church of Atlanta + Flint Hill

And now by the grace of God, we've made it through; we are living in the same state again (NJ) and we are gettin' married! I was originally going to ask if I could be Miss Mango bc I loveee mangos sooo much, but in the end decided to be true to my GA peach roots! woot!
Remember back when I posted the tissue paper bouquet on one of Martha Stewart’s wedding magazines? Well, I finally got around to trying to make one. I was going to wait until I made 25 flowers ie. a full bouquet, but I got so excited at how they were turning out I just had to show you now.
Here are the two main flowers I picked (from Martha Stewart Weddings):

Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Engineer
Engagement Date: 07/04/2006
Wedding Date: September 1, 2007
Venue: Lake Union Cafe, Seattle
About Me: I'm a Navy brat that has lived all over the world. I love reality shows that are in poor taste, going to new restaurants, and trying to be crafty. Emphasis on trying!
For our wedding programs, I thought it would be nice to include a quote or two about love. And be as it may, I am no poet. Rather, I’ve decided to rely on the works of John Bartlett. Here are a few samplings of his work. “True love is like ghosts, which everybody talks about and few have seen.” “Love me tender, love me sweet, never let me go.” Bartlett’s Book of Love Quotations would also be ideal to use in writing your own vows or in giving a toast!

Fiance's Age and Occupation: 31, Slave to the MTA
Engagement Date: August 12, 2006
Wedding Date: April 2008
Venue: Jericho Terrace, New York
About Me: Mr. Sunflower & I have been together for 3 years and to this day, he laughs at me when I tell him that I knew on our first date that I was going to marry him. Well, the most recent events prove, yet again, that I know everything. Most of my time these days involves planning and getting inspiration for our wedding, but when I'm not doing that, I enjoy shopping, movies, reading, writing, and making attempts at being crafty.
I stopped into Pier 1 one afternoon after work just to see what kind of merchandise they had to offer, and I found some things that I really like. I think I may have to talk to Mr. Sunflower about the possibility registering for a few things there:
