Mrs. Bee here.
Mr. Bee doesn’t understand why I never wear makeup when we go out, but always put makeup on when I go out with my girlfriends. For him it’s the exact opposite - he doesn’t care what he looks like in front of his friends. If he’s going to get dressed up, it’s going to be for me.
I was having dinner with a couple of Ladies Who Launch members awhile back and asked them if they were the same way. They all said yes - women dress for other women, not for men was our consensus.
Do you get more dressed up when you go out with your girlfriends than you do when you go out with your significant others?

I did a search on the site today to find the Denver Fabric posts. I can’t figure out a way to make my own little mosaic, so I’m going to just wing it from swatches I borrowed from Venus Bridal. If someone can help me make it look like an actual mosaic, I would greatly appreciate it.

I’m a sucker for cute packaging. I’ve been known to buy shampoo, nail polish, and food based on how nicely the contents are packaged. That’s why our favor packaging is so important to me.
For our wedding favors, we’re planning on doing chocolate chip cookies or mini cupcakes. Mr. Strawberry has been known to go out in the middle of the night to buy raw cookie dough - he’s a baker that one. I’m marrying Betty Crocker, I swear. Here are a few packaging ideas that I’m considering for the cookies.

I cannot thank my bridesmaids enough for my wonderful shower. I absolutely loved everything about it! My favorite part? The shower favors, of course!
I’m not sure, but I think in reponse to my cry for help on my seriously bad habit, the girls came up with such a brilliant idea for shower favors. It’s something that I desperately needed, and yet something that everyone could use!

From left top to right: A buffing thing, an emory board, cuticle oil, base coat, pink polish, top coat, yogurt sheet mask for your face, yogurt foam cleanser, and a sugar glow rub for your hands.
I wanted my nails to look pretty for my engagement photos, so I used all of the nail products last week. Of course, I suck at polishing my own nails and they looked like a 3 year old did my nails, but it did the trick! My nails were just long enough for a French manicure for my photo shoot! Yay!
And that concludes my bridal shower.
I will be getting married in a pretty big church. Not only is it big, the style is modern with a lot of open space. I would have liked to get married in a church that had a cozier, more traditional atmosphere, but I am thankful nevertheless that ours is super nice and new. But now, I am starting to get worried about how I’m going to decorate this place.
In most traditional style churches, even if the church is really big, the ornate architectural design is usually enough so that ribbon and flowers are sufficient for decorations. The sanctuary of my church, however, is modern and has wide-open empty space that is very simple in design. In addition, the picture you see below is only about half of the sanctuary; the angle was too wide to capture the entire place. We do expect a lot of people at the wedding, but probably not enough to fill the entire church.

I heard it snowed in Buffalo two weeks ago and now in Denver. Winter is upon us.

Mrs. Bee here.
In yesterday’s reader buzz we talked about interracial marriages, and several of you mentioned that religion was actually a bigger issue or challenge than race. Neither Mr. Bee nor I are religious, so we had a completely nondenominational ceremony. But I’ve had friends that have faced major issues with their in laws regarding converting to a specific religion, or holding two maybe even three separate wedding ceremonies.
Are you and your significant other from different religious backgrounds? Has it presented any challenges in your relationship, your relationship with your in-laws, or with the wedding planning process?
To be quite honest, I must say my crafting and wedding projects have slightly taken over the living room. And someone - no names mentioned - isn’t so happy about that!
So, last night I went on a mission. I hit Target, AC Moore, G Street Fabrics and Linens and Things to get Halloween costume supplies, wedding necessities and stuff to get organized.
I found this great fabric at G Street Fabrics and almost couldn’t resist, until I thought of all of the other fabric just waiting for attention…
I’m off to try and find a Halloween costume for my first party tonight, and I must say that I haven’t been in the costume mood lately. Perhaps it’s all of the wedding planning and school, but it just hasn’t been a big priority. Either way, Mr. Lemon and I couldn’t decide on any couples costumes to go with. Whatever one of us liked, the other wasn’t too happy about.
Last year I was Domino Harvey and he was a British football player. This year he has decided on joining the Lord of The Rings, and I’m in search of a good french maid costume.

[excuse my "I'm trying to look like a badass but its not working" face]
So much for cutesy couples coordination!
As I’ve mentioned before, Mr. Bee and I are dressing up as a bee and beekeeper for a Halloween party tonight.

But Mr. Bee tried on his costume last night and we realized that he looks like a fencer! So he’s going to wear yellow gloves, but maybe also a name tag that says something like Beekeeper, or Bee’s Keeper, or Mr. Bee - maybe with my bee hearts logo under it too? Ah the embarrassing things Mr. Bee does for love…
We don’t have that much time but, do you have any suggestions on how to make Mr. Bee look more like a beekeeper?
I know I posted some of these pictures before, but I wanted to elaborate on them just a little bit.
Ok, I have never been a scrapbooking type of person. But after receiving this scrapbook, I really can see myself getting into it! Who knows? I may make a scrapbook of my honeymoon after I get back.
