I’ve always been a very detail-oriented person, sometimes to a fault–in fact, I’ve been known to lose sight of the big picture because of my obsession with details. I believe that’s explained with the old adage “can’t see the forest through the trees.” Well, that’s me. And it has stretched into my wedding planning, too. I haven’t forgotten the real big picture, the fact that I’m getting married to Mr. Blueberry, but I must admit sometimes I lose my vision of the reception as a whole in favor of the tiny stuff–what kind of wine glasses to rent, the precise color of the fabric for my table runners. I get so wrapped up in one aspect until it’s done, then I move on to another little project…
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that’s not always a bad thing. When browsing photos on Flickr or Xanga or Knot bios or wherever, you can always tell a detail oriented bride–in any given photo you can just see the care that the bride has put into the details almost everyone else would overlook.
But not everyone is like that…some people care more about the big picture and less about how it gets done or with what specific elements. These weddings are always beautiful, too.
