The Great Cut: Two Years Later

November 2nd, 2006 @ 9:29 am by Mrs. Lemon

In December 2004, my hair was cut. In an extreme case of miscommunication, instead of walking out of a hair modeling gig (at a salon that charges $450 per haircut) with a LONG BOB, my hair was gone and I was left with less than a pixie cut. To someone accustomed to having ponytails, this was more than a drastic change. Everyone liked the cut, but I missed my relatively long hair with a passion. And since that day, I’ve been growing it out.

Before & After, 2004

I’ve gone through two years of hair product experimentation, and I’ve purchased and lost 1000’s of bobbypins in my wake. Every haircut was prefaced with “I’m growing my hair out again so please don’t cut out any length!” and I’m almost back to where I started!

With the extra boost of vitamins in the months before the wedding, I’m hoping to get it nice and full and to the “perfect” length. I’m proud that I never resorted to getting the extensions I wanted so badly, and hopefully I won’t have to use any on my wedding day either!

i personally think short hair rocks! you look rather spunky with short hair esp. in the Dec. 05 picture. I like!

your face is so pretty it is hard to notice anything “wrong” with your hair! :) but I know how you feel i went from waist lenght to shoulder in one foul snip (and I do mean foul!)

you look so pretty with all different hair lengths. and it’s been growing out nicely, so i’m sure that in a couple months it’ll be the “perfect” length. =o)

Great progress, but I agree with everyone else–your hair looked great short, too!

I unfortunately had a miscommunication about my hair, too–only this was right before high school graduation, and I couldn’t pull off the short hair look well at all. So I had my grad. pictures taken and walked the stage with this tiny short icky…thing. I still don’t like looking at pics of myself from that era.

Since then I’ve dyed my hair red and grown it ever-longer, in an attempt to forget its horrid past. :-P

You do look cute either way. :-) But man, sweetie, does it take you a LONG time to grow out your hair! I had a similar incident with hair modeling. Not only did they cut it to above my chin, but they dyed it copper and burgundy (I’m a brunette gal). :-P

Looking through you pics above, I don’t even really notice the length of your hair. You look beautiful in all your pics!
