About Mrs. Kiwi

I Want it

November 3rd, 2006 @ 8:24 am by Mrs. Kiwi

Well, I finally did it. I went dress shopping. Okay, more like, dress looking-over, but I did try one on. I saw it on the rack and was in awe of what I saw. The color was stunning, the detail amazing, the weight- INSANE! This thing was seriously 20 pounds, if not more. The good news? At $900.00 it’s under budget (in fact, I found a place I can get it cheaper!). The bad news? I need to lose weight before I get it, otherwise I’m going to look like a sausage. That is not very attractive, right? I still have to try on more, and bring a camera, too. This is the front:

When she said, “Ooooh, I didn’t show you the back!” and then flounced the chapel train out, I saw this:

And almost died. I love it. I need it. I want it. And then she showed me possible bustles for it - french bustle or a 5 pointer. I love it! Yes, I’ll try on more, but this one, this made me feel like a bride. *swoon*

Jasmine dresses are very pretty. My best friend wore one to her wedding and it was lovely. She said they were the best she found price and lookswise. I looked at their site when I was looking for gowns (my name is Jasmine how could I not) and I liked the one you like the most as well =)

you’ll try others on - but i think you already have your heart set on this one. =) do bridal shops in LA allow you to take pictures? very very few places in NY allow that. cameras are a strict no-no.

I love it!!!! And I agree with Miss Butterfly, it kind of sounds like no matter how many more you try on, this one might just be The One! But still - try on a ton more & TAKE PICTURES FOR US PLEEEEASE!!! :-)

Wedding gown shopping is so much fun! The train really sets it apart. Hopefully you will get to sneak some pictures!

Beautiful dress! I can just hear the “oohs” and “aahs” from guests as they see you walk up the aisle :-) Or maybe that’s the voices in my head, hehehe.

I agree w/ Miss Butterfly and Bluebell–this sounds like your One!!! :-D

Hi guys! Yeah, this dress- it was like a movie- I just floooated over to it. :) I will definitely try on more, Miss Butterfly, I’m thinking you can bring a camera every now and then- it’s really a case by case basis. I think it’s the train that did me in. I was against strapless (I have quite the top shelf), but I LOOOOVE it!

Lixue, which do you have, if you don’t mind sharing! (you could also just tell me the number, if you want). Jasmine dresses are stunning, aren’t they?

Question to all:
Do you think this train is too much for a non-church ceremony?

The weight of dresses is what impacted my decision more than a train. I am not going to be in a church for my ceremony, so I knew I didn’t want a train, either, but the weight was numero uno.

I thought I wanted a lace/sash dress and ended up witha chiffon beaded number! I think you gotta pick the dress you love, and the fact that mine happens to go well with what I think I should be wearing outdoors…well that’s just a bonus. :O)

wsukarebear, I wasn’t thinking I’d be a train girl, but then I saw this dress and was like, PRINCESS KIWI!! So who knows, huh? I’ll need to weight train to even get to wear it without passing out!

Joyjoy, that is my first thought right there!! After seeing the front and the hem I was like, I WANT THIS DRESS,. then she showed me the train and I almost moved in to the store. :)

C, I found this one in a little place in Culver City, called Rosa’s Shop, but they also have the list here: http://www.jasminebridal.com/html/web3/storelocator_a_1.asp?keyword2=CA

They have great dresses, too many to choose from, really.

i’ve heard that the heavier the dress, the better it looks on you, because it drapes nicer.
