Open Question: Fresh Invitations

November 3rd, 2006 @ 1:10 pm by Open Question

Hi, I was wondering if you or your readers might be able to share something with me…

I have been incredibly indecisive in my invite selection, eventually discarding each and every one of the 2 million ideas I’ve had…

I’m looking for some fresh ideas, and I was wondering if anyone knows of some great, possibly unknown websites. :)

Thanks!

Can’t Decide

i’m not officially engaged yet, but i know my bf and i will get engaged so i’ve been looking for things for our evenutal trip down the aisle [which he knows i'm doing so it's cool]. i don’t know of any websites but what i ended up finding AND loving is i came across a picture that i really loved and incorporated that into the invitation [which pretty much caused the rest of the wedding ideas to magically tie together and fall in place]. it didn’t take any design skills whatsoever. you can do that and take it to a printer and have them do all the heavy lifting.

My friend Yuan is a graphic designer who runs her own invitations company and she custom-designed my invitations, which were beautiful and very unique. A photo gallery of her work is at http://ykx86.smugmug.com/gallery/1133358 and she can be reached at info@lemondropcards.com. My invitation is the purple one in the third row, the last one to the right. All I told her was that I wanted a branch of plum blossoms across the top and then she came up with the gorgeous design all on her own.

We’re using Olio Style. Their work is amazing and so are the prices.

Love it!

My first (pre-Katrina) invites were done by Paper and Ink Studio (www.paperandinkstudio.com). They were so beautiful, sniff, sniff….

We used Cards de Luxe to design our custom invitations. Susanne was able to create the perfect invitation based on my simple instructions for our rustic, outdoor wedding. Their website is http://www.cardsdeluxe.com and you can email her to see her samples and portfolio.

My husband and I are using http://www.indianweddingcard.com for our renewal invitations. I love the bright colors and the non-denominational cards are quite chic!
