I thought it would be fun to see what in history happened on the day we are getting married (other than it being Bastille Day), so I did a little searching and it turns out that The History Channel has a whole website and newsletter dedicated to “This Day in History.”
You can visit it here - the link is in the middle of their homepage.
So, on July 14,
1789 -Bastille Stormed; Revolution Begins
1099 - Jerusalem captured in First Crusade
1798 - Sedition Act becomes a federal law
1963 - Rupture between USST and China grows worse
1938 - Alfred Hitchcock signs with David O Celznick
1882 - Gunfighter John Ringo is found dead
1913 - Future President Gerald R. Ford is born
1985 - My sister is born!!!
Is there anything significant about the day you are getting married?
