Meetaversary

November 6th, 2006 @ 11:30 am by Mrs. Bee

Last night was Mr. Bee and my 3 year meetaversary! In some ways, it’s more fun celebrating our meetaversary than our wedding anniversary, because our whirlwind of a first week together was so memorable. I hope we’ll always celebrate our meetaversary. :)

Is your dateaversary the anniversary of your first date (like us hence, meetaversary), or the anniversary of the date you officially became a couple?

We celebrate on our first date/first kiss which are the same. We met over a month earlier on the eve of a three day weekend, so we don’t look at that DATE but the day it falls (sort of like thanksgiving)

We celebrate our first kiss. The day we actually met was sometime in early Jan. 2005, but we didn’t start dating for a few months. We have a fairly good idea of the date of our first kiss and celebrate that day as our anniversary.

Our anniversary right now is of out second first date. Since we KNEW we’d be a couple from that second first date on. I guess that’s a benefit of having dated Mr. Kiwi before!

We celebrate our first date anniversary! After about a month or so of dating, he pulled out his cell phone calender and highlighted the day we first met, the day he asked for my number, the day before our first date where he picked me up to have coffee to “break the ice”, and the day of our first date, and told me to choose the official date!! :-D

We celebrate the day we met…which is two days before Valentines Day last year. He couldn’t call me back till the 15th because (1) you should never call back the next day (2) you should never call back on Valentines Day and he eventually called on the 15th and our date was two weeks later ;)

We celebrate the day we first kissed since we had been friends for a few months already.

Neither of us remember when our anniversary should be! We did have a second first date, but neither of us remember that date. :-P Literally, about a year into our relationship we were taking on the phone and I realized, “hey, we’ve been dating about a year, haven’t we?” Him: “Oh ya. Time flies.” Me: “So shouldn’t we be having an anniversary soon?” Him: “Ya, we should…” Me: “So when is our anniversary??” Him: “Dang, I was hoping you’d know.” Heehee.

We did remember a general time frame of when he finally had to courage to tell me he had feelings for me again, so that’s what we celebrate. Usually we just pick a weekend in Aug. :-)

Irk..it wouldn’t let me post that for the longest time. It kept saying that I was only allowed one comment every 15 seconds. It took 15min to post that!

We celebrate the day we became a couple. We’d know each other for 3 years before that. But at a bridal shower, family was asking how we met and what our first date was like and I honestly had trouble putting “our story” into words! We met in band, he took my younger sister to prom her senior year, and then we started dating when we watched a movie after I got off work at 11pm one Sunday night two and a half years later. Nutty.

My FI and I celebrate the day we officially became a couple, March 24. And as corny as it sounds, we make a point to tell each other “Happy Anniversary” on the 24th of each month, even after over 2 1/2 years together. My friends always say it’s not actually our anniversary since anniversaries only come once a year, but it’s something special that we enjoy doing.

(I’m having the same problem as JoyJoy posting…keep getting a message saying I can only post new comments every 15 seconds….kind of frustrating….)

My situation was a little different, we met for the first time on day #1, kissed on day #2 and then had to go our seperate ways on day #3. We were reunited a couple months later and then had our first date. But we celebrate day #2.

We were friends before we started dating so our dateaversary is the day we officially became a couple!

We dated for a couple months 7 years ago (don’t remember what that anniversary would be) then broke up for a couple years and didn’t talk, then became friends again for a few months…so our anniversary that we celebrate now is when we decided to start dating again. Although the day after that we had some “wait do we really want to do this?” going on for a little bit, but then when we decided we DID want to, we retroactively made it the prior week. Hehe if that makes any sense.
