Flower Girl Dresses

November 7th, 2006 @ 4:20 pm by Mrs. Plum

It’s been a really difficult task trying to find the right dress for my little flowergirls - all of the ones I like are $300 and up! confused.gif It’s even harder trying to find high quality silk dupioni dresses for a good price, which is what I’m looking for. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I think $300 is a bit much to be spending on a little girl’s dress for one day! (unless it’s her birthday or first communion or something…)

So I’ve been trying to do a little research and here are some great dresses I found for much cheaper.

These are from the online boutique: Everything Nice

$58

not silk, but still cute

Flower Girl Dresses : wedding flower girl Flowergirl2 flowergirl2.jpg

$45

$75

Flower Girl Dresses : wedding flower girl Flowergirl4 flowergirl4.jpg

$85

$65

All of these dresses are either made from dupioni silk (my favorite!) or a textured satin that looks similar to the “raw” texture of dupioni silk.

Have you checked out pegeen.com? Their dresses start at $109, and they’re all silk and very pretty. Most of them are more, but there are reasonably priced dresses on the website, you can set up the catalog to list them by price. I’ve heard good things about the company.

Don’t count out JCPenney. They have a Bridal section with super cute dresses that you can order and return easily.

Jessica McClintock has well-priced dresses with more oomph that are similarly priced.

If you are lucky, you will find holiday dresses at Target that fit your color schemes. Those are like $25 and some aren’t bad. Order them now though. Holiday dresses at any store probably aren’t a bad idea (kmart, walmart, etc.).

Scour those stores after the holiday for sales on accessories that you don’t need (like hair bows and stuff) but that would make great gifts at a clearance price.

i think all flower girl dresses look the same. try jcrew, gapkids, or non flower-girl dresses for something truely unique (and cheaper)

Those dresses are super cute! I actually got 2 of their dresses at the Jessica McClintock outlet in SF ($17 on sale!) and two of them from Burlington Coat Factory of all places ($20). Both dresses are absolutely adorable!

We’re not having a flower girl anymore (sad story), but when we were planning on it I found Storybook Heirlooms had a wonderful selection of pretty dresses at reasonable prices - especially when they went on sale.

I also wanted dupioni silk for the fg’s and didn’t want to spend a lot - there is a pretty one on here that is 55ish…
