On The Original Side Of Things

November 7th, 2006 @ 7:18 pm by Mrs. Kiwi

Following my veil option post, I was looking for something that may be a little different. While I don’t think I want to stray from the traditional, something inside me wants to be noticed as I walk down the aisle. These non-veil looks may be in the running. They range from feathers to flowers, hairpins and combs. All of these were found at theknot.

Gorgeous! Some of those would look really cute with a simple birdcage veil in addition, if you had it arranged right :-)

I’ve seen girls use veils for the ceremony & then put in some adornement without the veil for the reception. All very pretty!

I love the flower hair clips, I’m planning on doing that for my wedding!

Weird coincidence, I think that girl in the second row went to high school with me!

Miss Kiwi says:

Janne, these were all found at the knot, the yellow flower is just a flower. The hairpins and the ones on the bottom row are by Laura Jayne. The two in the middle are by Lori London (who has tons others I haven’t posted but still LOVE).

I’m not wearing a veil-I’m getting married outside in a simple ceremony and I just didn’t want it. I bought some gorgeous hairpins from eBay that look like crystal snowflakes and that’s what I am using-try eBay if you are looking for anything like this, I found all the wedding websites way overpriced-for hair accessories.

Miss Bluebell says:

Oooh I love all these! I am so torn on the veil vs. other accessory issue. I do like the idea of switching from one to the other for the reception though…best of both worlds!

Really pretty! I love the look…but I already have a veil. What to do…what to do…

Nony Mouse says:

I’m thinking of putting in greenery as part of my ‘do. The veil can come and go.

I’m curious to see what you decide to do! I am on the fence about the whole veil issue. If I do end up wearing one, I don’t know if I will wear it over my face. Hmm…
