Rainy Wedding Predicted :(

November 8th, 2006 @ 9:31 am by Mrs. Bird of Paradise

I’ve been tracking the weather for my wedding, and the forecast calls for rain the Monday before the wedding THROUGH the Monday after. I’m so bummed. I thought I was finished with all my online wedding purchases. But, with the rain looming, maybe I should invest in a large umbrella since all I own are purse size ones.

Rain + Outdoor tent reception = :(

I found this 48″ inch umbrella for $15.

I also spotted this extra large 72″ one for $69.95. Do you think this would be TOO big?

too big might not be a problem… it’s the whole getting wet thing that would bother me.

…oooo and umbrellas even make for cute pictures. so maybe look into colored ones. they might not be as express because they’re regular umbrellas, not BRIDAL umbrellas.

bridal/wedding/etc. words all tack extra money onto items.

:-( sorryyy! But I really DO love umbrella pics, and your wedding is definitely not one I’d worry about not being absolutely frickin gorgeous no matter how rainy it is!!

Don’t worry Miss BOP!

Personally, I think the weather is almost completely unpredictable, so you never know what could happen - they could be totally wrong!

I LOVE photos with umbrellas, and isn’t it good luck if it rains on your wedding day?

I bought a ‘wedding’ umbrella just in case we had rain and I was so glad I did. I ordered a 48″ one in champange (to match the ribbon on my dress). I ordered it online for $15 and it was shipped right away and received within three days. It was plenty big enough and very pretty. We didn’t end up needing it the day of the wedding but it was great for the rehearsal dinner the night before as it rained and snowed (my wedding was 10/21/06)! More importantly, it gave me peace of mind leading up to the wedding that we would have at least some outdoor shots of my new husband and I rain or shine.

Jill- did you find that the 48″ would have been large enough for the wedding day had you needed to use it?

Rain can be romantic and cozy. Check out this Knottie Bio of “Rainy Day Wedding” inspirations and pictures:

I’m sorry about the rain, but I agree with the other ladies. Rainy wedding pics can be really cute! I’d also go for the bigger umbrella, like the golf sized ones. Better to have a gigantic umbrella in pics than to have a tiny one and a wet dress!

Im sorry for the rain too but you can get some beautiful shots when it rains too. As long as you have a good photographer that knows how to use the elements itll be fine Buy an umbrella though just in case ; )
