Uggs?

November 9th, 2006 @ 12:45 pm by Mrs. Strawberry

For my late summer/early fall wedding, I bought my bridesmaids flip flops to be more comfortable in for the reception. If you are getting married in the colder months, flip flops probably aren’t the best option. How about getting your bridal babes a pair of Uggs?

Am I crazy? Is it tacky? I think they would be super comfortable and you could even coordinate them in your wedding colors! :)

i have a fervent, burning hatred of uggs… but it’s purely a matter of opinion. however… i think uggs with any kind of dressy outfit is screaming “clueless teenager”

I think they’re horrible as well, partially due to the fact that it’s all I saw on a certain subsection of the undergrads on campus for a winter or so.

In short, yes I think you’re crazy. :D

I don’t mind seeing them on the street–they look warm, at least–but I think I draw the line on bridesmaids. Unless someone’s getting married in an igloo. Then they’d be okay.

I feel like I must preface the fact that they shouldn’t be worn them at the ceremony–just at the reception.

I think it would be too bulky with wedding dress, crinoline and uggs? Just wondering. They do look awfully comfortable (dreamy)

The only thing that bugged me about uggs was that they made people look like they had cankles. The calves just went straight up and down! That’s why I could never wear them. :) Would your BMs be okay with it? The pictures from the reception may look a little dated, I think uggs were popular a couple years ago- maybe that’s why they bugged me? Everyone wore them in L.A.- in the summer. When it’s deathly hot. To each her own, though!! At least they’d be warm! :)

I plan on wearing white flip flops with jewels on them for my wedding :). It really depends on how formal your wedding is!

i think they’re awesomely comfy. my only reservation would be the price, but if you’re willing to spoil your BMs, i think it’s a great idea. :)

I got my bridesmaids flip flops! I swear!! :) It was just a thought for a winter wedding—to have them worn on the reception.

I’ve been an UGG-devotee since 1992, when I begged for forest green or Navy Uggs for sixth grade Christmas! And they’ve my “other” shoes (when it’s too cold to wear flip-flops) for almost 15 years now. Then again, I’ve always lived where surfing couture was acceptable…

I think it’s cute as a gift for a winter wedding!

I hate to say this but I am strongly considering wearing a tall pink pair in my wedding ceremony. I am getting married outside in the snow and depending on how cold it is and how deep the snow is, I am seriously thinking about throwing them on…
No one will see them under my dress and then I can change into my fabulous wedding shoes indoors.
In short, I think its cute-great idea for bridesmaids!

Ok sorry, I hate Uggs. I understand that they’re functional and warm and comfy…but they’re also quite ugly. I think I’ve been given a very bad impression of them though since I live in Cali where girls walk around in miniskirts and Uggs. Pointless.
Uggs and Crocs. Seriously! Why would anyone want to wear crocs! They may be comfy but seriously, there have GOT to be comfy shoes out there that arent rubber clogs with holes in them. Sorry to anyone who loves them. I just don’t understand why. WHY??
