Honeymoon Ready!

November 11th, 2006 @ 1:25 pm by Mrs. Lemon

What’s a better way to rid the winter blues (in my case… missing the 95 degree heat from a few days ago) than stare at pictures of tropical islands? Mr. Lemon and I had different ideas about where we wanted to go, but we had one common goal: casual relaxation. I didn’t want to think too hard about where to eat meals, but I also didn’t want to be in a large resort atmosphere with rigorous schedules. I would hate to feel like I was wasting money by not eating every gourmet meal and renting a sailboat and drinking a cocktail at every moment!

So, on Mr. Lemon’s advice, we’re off to St. Kitts for 8 beautiful days!!! He fell in love with the island a few years ago on a trip with his family, and he couldn’t wait to share it with me. I’ve never visited the Caribbean, so I’m really really excited! We’re staying at Ottley’s Plantation Inn, which is a gorgeous 24-room plantation bed and breakfast on an old 35-acre sugar plantation. Huge breakfasts and dinners (which are amazing according to Tripadvisor) are included in our stay, and our cottage even has its own plunge pool on the deck!

Of course, I’m more excited about the monkeys than anything else! I mean, who can pass up an opportunity to watch monkeys swing in the trees while getting a massage?!? I think it’ll be the perfect getaway that we’ll need from the world for the week after our wedding!

Here are some pictures of the resort:

Hi. I’ve never been to St. Kitts. I’ll have to look into it. It looks beautiful. My FI and I are thinking about St. Lucia right now. :)

Looks fabulous Miss Lemon!! I am so excited for you and your Fi! I would love to take our HM there, but since we are getting married on Sept. 14th, I am worried about hurricanes. Does St. Kitts get hit by hurricanes frequently?
