Ask The Expert

November 13th, 2006 @ 4:17 pm by Mrs. Bee

Have you seen the Talk to the Newsroom feature on the New York Times? They have an editor at the NYT answer a week’s worth of questions from readers. It’s a pretty cool feature, and a great behind-the scenes peek behind the NYT curtain.

I was thinking that it’d be fun to start a similar feature for Weddingbee! But we don’t have editors like the New York Times, so after the first one… I could find us some wedding experts to ask a week’s worth of questions to. I’m thinking of asking some of the top florists, photographers, and planners in the wedding industry. They’d answer 4-5 questions about whatever you’re interested in over the course of one week.

It will take us a while to line up the experts, so stay tuned. In the meantime, I thought I’d start by answering your questions about Weddingbee. Is there any behind-the-scenes info you’re dying to know about the site? ;-)

great idea! I would love to get their perspectives on things. What’s the most memorable wedding they’ve worked on and what makes it memorable? What can brides do to help photographers/florists/planners?

This is a random curious question. You once said that the site is arranged so that two posts by people with similiar logo color schemes wouldn’t be posted on top of eachother (or something like that). Does that mean that the posts aren’t put up when the blogger hits submit? Do you do moderation or editing on the posts?

is there gonna be a babybee? :)
could you see weddingbee someday expanding to something like…say…theknot? though the two seem to be entiiiirely different… but i guess my question is, how “big” could weddingbee become as a business?

Who’s on the deciding committee if they get chosen as a bee or not?
