Pink and Brown Candy

November 13th, 2006 @ 11:10 am by Mrs. Strawberry

I have too many ideas. If I’m not careful, my wedding is going to look a pink and brown explosion. Much too overwhelming. However, I’m having a hard time deciding which ideas to throw out–especially when it comes to favors. I am no longer doing chocolate chip cookies and milk. :( Too hard.

I had to decide between a candy buffet and mini cupcakes so I’ve made a compromise with myself - I’ll do the mini cupcakes as favors and then do a small display of pink and brown candy on the guest book table. Now the hunt is on for pink and brown candy! Here are the choices that I have to narrow down:

Pink Jelly Beans?

Pink M&M’s?

Salt Water Taffy?

I think the salt water taffies would be nice. It’s individually wrapped!!! and has a nice soft pink and brown color. As for the others without wrappers, guests might not want to dig their hands in. And it might be too much trouble to serve with plates or cups and such.

taffy, babes. maybe those old fashioned candy sticks; like pink with white stripes on them? and you can’t go wrong with m&ms. it’s like the law.

of course this all depends on how big you want your candy station to be.

Im doing a candy buffet at my wedding and my colors are pink and brown. Im going to have little bags so the guests can fill them up with the candys they want and take them home for favors. Ive been collecting lots of pink and brown candies.. Ive came up with this so far…

Pink and brown m&ms
Pink and brown whoppers [they made strawberry ones for breast cancer awareness month.. gross I know but cute!]
Pink and brown tootsie rolls
Pink and brown suckers
Pink and brown Yorks

I love the taffy! THanks!! I was already doing the m&m’s and choloate covered pretzles (with white chocolate dyed pink too of course)… I had a great idea for a cake or cupcakes! Well it was my aunt’s idea she is doing my cake and my colors are pink and brown…she is swirling strawberry and chocolate (choclate mixed with white first gives you a better milky choclate) and so when you cut into the cake it will swirls of pink and brown! I loved it she tried it already and it looks great!

I love all the ideas. My sister is getting married in October. I think we are going to use the candy idea at the reception also. I am the Matron of Honor and I am trying to find any ideas. Her wedding is also going to be pink and brown. I want to do something for her that she will remember for the rest of her life. She is my best friend ever and any suggestions you all have would be great. Please feel free to email any ideas.
