And The Drama Begins

November 14th, 2006 @ 5:33 pm by Mrs. Bird of Paradise

I just got an email from my events coordinator at our reception venue. She’s no longer going to be working with us for our rehearsal dinner or our wedding reception because she’s no longer working at our venue. Uh oh! A few days away from our big day, this is not what I needed to hear. :(

YIKES that is awful!!!! Are they providing you with a new coordinator? Have you met that person before? Is there any way you can negotiate for them to let her do your wedding before she goes??? GOOD LUCK!!!!

Oh, that’s terrible!!! Since you indicated that the general manager seems to have an aversion to phones, I think this is DEFINITELY reasonable grounds for marching on over there and seeing someone in person. Best of luck!

Good Luck, I’m sure everything will fall into place - no worries but I know how difficult it can be right now. Best of Luck with everything!

i feel your pain! the catering manager we were dealing with (who was very nice) left and now we’re left with an impatient, rude replacement. :(

don’t worry too much, i’m sure everything will work out in the end!

From what I understand this happens pretty often when it comes to venue coordinators–I guess they are trying to furthure their individual careers and might be working on constantly building the resume? Good thing you have a personal DOC that can help pick up the dropped balls, so to speak (not trying to be freaky!).

Its OK, find an aunt of a trusted friend to be your right arm ASAP.
Fill her in on everything, you will find she is just as valuable as a coorfdinator.
Also, make sure your aunt/friend meets the caterer and any other vendors.
Don’t let this stress you out; she can go meet the vendors on her own, or you can go with her.
It will be OK, I had a wedding planner and she really didn’t do anything different than a good friend would, anyway
