About Mrs. Peach

>_< These days I've been uber stressed about wedding planning. And when I get stressed I cry, go to sleep, don't get any work done, and get more stressed when I wake up! But, if that was the way I always handled stress, I'd never get through life. (Although, crying does make me feel better at times)

^_^ A more productive way I handle stress is getting into Super Peach mode! I put on my fighting gear, roll up my sleeves, grit my teeth, and start writing down my to-do list. I then go throughe each task, crossing them out one by one with a feeling of victory each time I do. Hmm, not much to it, eh? Hahaha.

There is a Korean saying that translates to something like: "Starting is already half way there" meaning, sometimes starting is the hardest thing to do, and just by taking the initial step you've accomplished a big and difficult portion of your task! So maybe, that's my problem... I just need enought kick-in-the-butt to get started.

How do you deal with wedding planning stress? What’s been stressing you out these days? Feel free to vent away~ (tis’ a healthy thing to do sometimes)

I’ll start with one: These days I’ve been super stressed about my invitations. I’ve decided on a southern theme for our wedding (since most of our guests are from out of town/ non-southerners), which is easy when it comes to food, but what does it mean to have southern themed stationery?? I’ve been rackin’ my brain and the internet for days on this… I’m still looking. Maybe I’m being too obsessive about my theme.

And lastly, as a tribute to the inspiration of my southern theme, I reveal to you our wedding reception location (more photos of this site to be posted when I go home for Christmas):

Hi Miss Peach,

I’m a southern girl living in the northeast. One thing that ALWAYS makes me think of home is magnolias and spanish moss.

Good luck with your theme - I can’t wait to see what you come up with :)

I feel your pain on the wedding stress thing. I had a total meltdown last night on the phone with my fiance (related to the fact that wedding = spotlight on family, and my family is teeny/nontraditional/almost nonexistent, and b/c I sometimes feel like I’m totally going it alone — mom and sister not very involved). Deep breaths!

When I feel the wedding stress hit, I completely get out of wedding mode and do absolutely nothing wedding related for about 2-3 weeks, and then panic because I’m not doing anything! It’s a vicious cycle.

I only have 17 days left and the stress is hitting me hard!
I can’t sort out what I need to do or when I need to do it anymore.
I’m starting to physically feel it now-first I was breaking out and I haven’t had a pimple since high school. The new manifestation is stomach cramps or just fits of crying…

I was just thinking to myself this morning how much I get out of being able to cross stuff off my to-do list. My favorite part is triumphantly tearing up my list when it’s complete. It is wonderfully cathartic. And I can’t tell you how great it felt to throw out all the little to-do lists I had going once the wedding was over. At that point, whether I had completed everything or not, it didn’t matter anymore, so I chucked it all. Sweet release!

PS I love the suggestion of a magnolia to represent the southern theme.

Girl — Being March 07 bride, I totally hear you. Mr Orange keeps telling me I was grinding my teeth at night — TOTAL sign of stress. I am considering pampering myself soon? How about you?

Miss Peach says:

Ooo magnolias! I was toying around with Cherokee roses (GA state flower) but magnolias sound wonderful too. must write this down…

as for pampering myself? i wish i had the mula to do so… unfortunately this is another stressor, so these days pampering = sleeping in. ^_^ i love sleep!

It’s only one shot, and still it looks gorgeous.

As for stress, I mostly don’t worry. I’m sure my friends would rather have a less extravagant affair, knowing I enjoyed planning my wedding instead of stressing out. Besides, it come together in the end. Stuff always does . . . whether or not it’s in the way you expected or envisioned, it’ll be okay.

P.S. I do also think it’s healthy to have a good cry now and then.
