Please help me with wedding invites! Are there other sites similar to whiteaisle (flat printing is fine) and the same price range? Your suggestions are much appreciated!

How many food options are too many??? We are doing a buffet for 200 guests and have–brace yourselves– 7 entree choices!! I think it’s excessive, mom thinks it’s perfect, what do you guys think?

heyjanety - i got your email and was thinking whether i knew any photographers that were 2500 or less… and couldn’t come up with anyone other than tony yang who charges 2800. http://knsaber.com/wedding/index.php?PHPSESSID=b6dfe549103bf56ee058ec2fc98ead6e

there are quite a few in the 2500-300 range. you may want to check out the wpja for up and coming photographers.

as for florists, i recently worked with perla who’s based in nj. she works with all kinds of budgets and does beautiful work - http://www.weddingbee.com/2006/09/30/perla-company/#comments.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

heyjanety: Have you tried Designs by Rose? The NYC knot board loves Rose and Doris Capatano’s family business in Queens. They do venues all over the NYC metro area though.

We’re using Olio Style. It came down to them or White Aisle, and I liked Olio’s samples better.

My wedding photographer, who I know consider a friend, moved to NYC (sniff, sniff) and starts at $2200 (but you get a lot for that). Her name is Sandra O’Claire and her website is http://eauclairephotographics.com/

You can see lots of pics from our wedding in my knot bio:

The referral of the photographer brings another question. When you gals are talking about prices, does that include albums, framed photos, 4×6 pictures, etc? What would be a good price for just the picture-taking portion?

I’m looking for this pillar candle holder that Mrs. Ladybug found as a special on redenvelope.com. It’s no longer there. :( http://www.weddingbee.com/2006/09/10/deals

Does anyone have one that they are willing to sell me or know where I can find something similar? Thanks!

I’m now recently engaged (about 3 weeks) and we were originally planning to have the wedding Sept 2007. Now, we have been looking to push it forward to May 2007 (his parents don’t see the point in waiting, now my parents don’t either, nor my fiance).

I’ve become accustomed and excited with the idea of an earlier wedding, but now that we’ve found out the reception and ceremony venues are both available the 1st week of May, I’m beginning to get worried that I may not be allowing myself enough time to plan.

So honestly, do you ladies think it’s possible for me to plan a 250 person wedding in 5 months or am I just kidding myself?!

take it from a girl who is four days away. i was engaged on August 1st of this year, and am getting married this Friday, December 1st. We didn’t settle on a date until September, so planning didn’t start until then. You can do it…and I didn’t have to sacrifice one thing. I’m a detail-oriented person, so I wasn’t willing to budge on much.

You can obsess over your wedding for a year or for a handful of months…but, i think in the end you get the same result.

Good luck!

Cindy,

My florist is looking for similar Red Envelope vases. I’ll be sure to email Mrs. Bee if I find them. Best of luck!

Sorry about the earlier incomplete entry…hit the wrong key.

Yes, you can plan a 250 person wedding in 5 months. It just takes a lot of organization and more importantly, decisiveness (I can’t emphasize that enough).

Just wrapped a 200 guests wedding/reception and 3 weeks later a 150 guests reception in another city, which were both planned in about 6 months.

Here’s one tip, if you can possibly hold the wedding on a day besides Saturday (obviously the most popular day of the week for weddings), then you’re more likely to get your first choice venue and vendors.

You can do it. Good luck.
