A Rehearsal Dinner Alternative

November 16th, 2006 @ 3:15 pm by Mrs. Apple

The Texas Queen Riverboat offers a great alternative to a rehearsal dinner setting. They cruise the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard in this charming doubledecker paddlewheeler boat.

It does sound quite romantic and intimate looking up into the sky and star searching with friends and family.

They accommodate up to 150 guests and serve a dinner with live entertainment such as a Murder Mystery Tour, Casino Night and Jazz Blues Night. This sounds like a fun alternative for either a rehearsal dinner or a wedding reception.

While I drive home from work at night, I see the Texas Queen Riverboat all lit up like a Christmas tree. I bet the views are gorgeous when the sun is setting. This is one of the views you would get while on the river boat:

The website and pictures seem a little dated so I might just ask Mr. Apple to take me on one of those dinner cruises so brides in the Dallas area can get a personal review of it.

What do you think about this as a possible rehearsal dinner/reception venue?

i think it’s a great idea actually. our friends had their rehearsal dinner on the odyssey here in DC complete with dancing and dinner and drinks while the boat traveled up the potomac river and got to see all the major memorials. it was very relaxing and really beautiful at night.

Too cool…and I know it’d be right up my family’s alley. I would do it and enjoy the novelty!

I would be excited. It’s something different and sounds super fun! But . . . is it possible to get seasick on a river boat? I wouldn’t know.

Hi, I live in the Rockwall area. I know some people who had a fancy dinner on that boat. My friend that told me about it said that they paid something like $50 a person and the tables were cheap fold out tables, and they used paper plates and plastic forks. She said the alcohol was very expensive and not that good. Over all she thought it was a rip off. She too had wanted to go on there for a long time and thought it was a let down once she got there. I’d try it out one night with your sweetie if you haven’t already before you actually pay for more people.
