About Reader Buzz

Mrs. Bee here.

Mrs. and Mr. Butterfly shared quite a long first kiss as husband and wife ;). This got Mr. Bee and I to talking about how we practiced our first kiss before the wedding - it was not too long, not too short and with our mouths closed.

Are you and your FI planning on practicing your first kiss? What type of kiss are you planning on having - a short, sweet peck, a longer kiss but with mouths closed, a kiss with mouths slightly open, or a deep, long, passionate open-mouthed kiss?

As long it’s not like TomKat’s, it should be fine.

Anyone see “Wedding Singer”? We’re going for “church kiss” not too long, lips slightly parted and chaste. :)

Ours was kind of in the middle. Our photographer told us beforehand to make sure it wasn’t too short so that she could take a few pictures of it! And we defnitily practiced beforehand!

Ours will definately be closed-mouth, and probably sorta in the middle…but we are very anti-PDA, and even though it’s our wedding, we’ll feel awkward, shall I say? We are both EXTREMELY shy!

OK now is as good a time as ever to admit it…what’s with the long closed-mouth kiss? Mr. Blueberry and I just practiced that a few times, and…ho hum. Yawn! Not at all exciting.

Of course, we already decided we’ll be using “church tongue” on the day-of. :-)

Ditto Miss Kiwi…no tongue, mouths open, long enough for a couple pictures.

Enough to show the emotion of the day, but restrained enough to not embarrass ourselves in the middle of a church :)

I am going to be fairly embarrassed with my first kiss! My honey told me that he wanted everyone to know we were together and he’s going to , in his words, “lay one on me”… lol I’m looking forward to it….

Now I have to watch The Wedding Singer.

We’ve practiced once or twice, how embarrassing. Definitely closed mouth or slightly parted lips. I’m more concerned about the direction of head tilt (bump!) or where I’m going to put my hands! Talk about overanalyzing.

I never thought about practicing until coming across this post. Maybe I should think about it. As long as there’s no tongue I think going with the flow is our action plan.

We practiced so that I would know where our hands go! Not that we haven’t kissed before, because we definitely have, but I didn’t want to block the camera or the people watching! Our was a medium length kiss with a brief peck at the end. That last part wasn’t planned, and it was great!
