One of the comments on my Dress Envy entry asked about why the wedding was postponed.
It’s a long, sordid story…but the reasons were essentially:
1. Money
2. Family issues/interference
3. Timing
The wedding was postponed about 2 weeks before the event. It was probably the most emotional time of my life. It was never about a lack of love or any big, sordid break-up type affair. It was just a situation where we tried to “make it work” (ahhh Tim Gunn, how you influence my everyday-speak), and couldn’t get it together in the end.
But above all, it was never about us NOT wanting to get married. We’ve always wanted to get married to each other…for basically as long as we’ve known one another. So yes, no real acrimony, no cheating, nothing like that. Just a mutually made, yet painful, decision.

sorry for what you went through… It must’ve been hard. They say that the bad times make the sweet times that much sweeter though ..I hope that that when your time comes of saying your vows, it’s absolutely perfect.
My grandma always said, “Good things come to those who wait.” It seems you both deserve many good things–including a new dress. Both the ones you listed are great, but I like the second one a little better. Is lace making a comeback?

Hi Miss Pearl. I think I’m going through a similar situation where we’re considering postponing ours.. We’re in such a difficult place right now and.. well.. we don’t know what to do. Sigh..
