About Miss Sunflower

A Planning Lull

November 23rd, 2006 @ 1:44 pm by Miss Sunflower

Things have been relatively quiet here on the Sunflower Wedding front. With the major vendors booked, there’s at least another couple of months before we book the limos and florist. I haven’t had a chance to go dress hunting yet due to a series of health complications for both Mr. Sunflower and myself, and I’m feeling kind of down in the dumps.

We did, however, begin registering for a few things at Bed, Bath & Beyond. After much thought, we decided not to register for fine china b/c we’re just not fine china people. Instead, we’ve registered for two different sets of everyday/casual dinnerware:

“Cappuccino” from Pfaltzgraff:

“Antique Olive” from BBB (including the accessories, not shown here):

Did you register for fine china? And a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving to you all!

I really like the Antique Olive. I like a little “spanish flavor” in my decor! like you guys, I’m not one for fine china. good choices! and I hope you guys feel better soon!

I really like both of the sets you guys chose. Yay for BBB! We didn’t get china because we pretty much knew that we would never use it, so we got the Kona Coffee set from Noritake. And it’s too bad you guys aren’t feeling great, but hey, still getting wedding things done!

We’re not registering for china… I don’t think we’d ever use it, and I definitely wouldn’t have a place to store it.

We’re not fine china people either- I think it’s more practical to go with the everyday dinnerware sets. Something you can appreciate daily and get some real use out of it. I love the olive set! I’m loving square plates lately.

We did register for fine china, most of my good friends didn’t…We don’t have a great home for entertaining yet, but we hope to in the future. We love having people over and love getting “a little fancy” with our parties. There is also just this traditional side of me that loved the idea of picking china patterns. And, most importantly, we were engaged in Ireland and bought a pair of Waterford champagne glasses to commemorate our trip. We just had to compliment those with more cyrstal and china!

Love the casual china you chose!

We registered for fine china, but just because I’m a china whore :-P I collect china and glassware in every and all form!

We didn’t register for china because we tend to use a lot of mismatchy global or vintage pieces when we have people over, so I wanted something to just blend with that. We went with the noritake colorwave in cream, also from BBB.

Nope, no fine china for us either… I’d be afraid to use it! Instead, we registered for some casual plate sets from Target for everyday, and then a sophisticated white floral by Denby for our “fancy” dinners. :)

We did register for fine china and everday dinnerware. I am hoping to take over some of the family holidays and I thought it would be a perfect time to use it and I love to have people over and even if the dinner isn’t fancy, it is fun to dress it all up!

No china here. It’s hard for me to commit to one pattern for the rest of my life. :)

we will probably register…haven’t picked a pattern yet though. i thought i found one here on weddingbee the other day, but then i realized the patter was in gold and i was hoping it was silver. we’ll have to go look at it in person!

I didn’t even know people “traditionally” register for fine china until I read about it on Weddingbee! As I am not much of a fine china-person myself, I am glad to know that not “everyone” registers for it and I wouldn’t be the only weirdo who doesn’t think it’s necessary. =P
