278 Days To Go…

November 27th, 2006 @ 2:47 pm by Mrs. Strawberry

278 days to go until the wedding and I have a few more projects out of the way. Yay! I feel very productive. I made two flower pens for the guest book and a number of “crackers” for the ecofetti.

I bought a tin of stickers and tags from Cavallini to add embellishments to the crackers.

I even picked up these cute shabby chic picture frames from TJ Maxx to use to label things such as guest book and favors. And what’s that in the background of the picture? Oh yes, that’s right–the pink bathroom! :)

i wonder if you guys would mind posting the costs and material sources of your DIY, even if you don’t post the steps?

I really love the guestbook pens. Where did you get the flowers from?

I love the English crackers and the pens! I actually wanted to make pens like that, but I, too, didn’t know where to look for flowers.

Also, what did you use to wrap the stem? It doesn’t look like the floral tape that I’ve seen other people use.

I got the flowers at Michaels when they were on sale. Pretty good deal! :) You can’t tell in the pic–but they are pretty realistic looking–especially the hydrangea. I originally used floral tape the attach the flower and wrap the pen. Then I found this cool pink cord at Paper Source and liked the look of it better. :)

As for the costs of the diy..that’s tough! Tissue Paper was about $4. Ribbon was varying prices….I got a lot of it on ebay. The stickers and tags were pricey about $15 per tin. I think I’m going to make tags myself for the remainder of the crackers. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help!

Oh and the picture frames were orginally $14-16 each and I got them for about $6 each at TJ Max. :)

WOW! And you said you weren’t crafty…I think all that looks great and I LOVE that you’ve added birds to your motiff. It really is perfect and all that is looking very shabby chic. :-)
