About Mrs. Pearl

Flower Mania

November 28th, 2006 @ 5:26 pm by Mrs. Pearl

Of all the decisions I’ve had to make during the wedding planning process, flowers have been the most difficult. Maybe it’s because flowers are something that everyone notices and comments on. Maybe it’s because I’ve seen rooms that have been transformed by decor. Maybe it’s becaues Mr. Pearl doesn’t give a hoot about flowers, so all the decisions are mine? But the flowers have pained me more than all the other decisions combined. I change my mind all the time about what I want, but what has remained constant is that I want:

1. Rhinestone accents
2. Fluffy flowers (peonies, hydrangea, lisianthus) and calla lillies
3. Ostrich feathers/plumes

Since our last florist went crazy-go-nuts, I figured that I’d take a chance and meet with a high end florist here in LA. I figured that at minimum, I’d get a better idea of what I could do with another florist if I couldn’t afford them. I met with Luna Gardens and discussed my ideas. One of the bright spots was that the woman told me they could do peonies for my bouquet, which I really wanted!! We also discussed decor like linens, chairs, and lighting. Mr. Pearl and I planned to have all those things and planned to get them from the Ritz, but it never hurts to price check.

I got the quote from Luna Gardens and with everything together, the budget is actually going down! That’s a miracle in and of itself, except I didn’t expect to fit in my budget with a high end florist. The description of the centerpieces was actually decadent! Check it out:

Displayed above tall clear glass trumpet vases will be these beautiful and fluffy flower arrangements that will be composed out of roses, hydrangea, and lisianthus in tones of blush, pink and ivory. Accents of dark chocolate brown mini calla lilies will accent this arrangement along with loops of dark chocolate painted branches of curly willow. Clear crystals will accent the inside of each vase. Ostrich feathers will surround and cascade down from the arrangements.

Loves it!

Flowers were the hardest for me too!!! Sounds like you hit the lotto with the florist you’ve got now!
