Invitations

November 30th, 2006 @ 10:33 am by Mrs. Pearl

Hi, my name is Miss Pearl and I’m a paper addict.

I never knew what a fun world paper shopping could be until wedding planning. I mean, as a teenager, I had fun stationery — a soft, watercolor rainbow print and a fierce, diva-like leopard bordered paper. But textures are a whole new world to me.

I’m one of the lucky that lives near a Paper Source, which is what got me started on my paper addiction. To save money before, Mr. Pearl and I decided we were going to do regular, run of the mill Carlson Craft invitations — pretty, but basic. Now that we have more time, I have gotten to do some looking (and drooling) over paper.

Some of the favorites so far…

Not From a Box

Kluga Press

Marsville Press: As a tip — Marsville is located in Canada, which means that your American dollar goes a bit farther there, making letterpress from Marsville slightly less expensive than many other companies in the U.S. Yay, exchange rate!

I’m loving the pocketfold also, though Mr. Pearl couldn’t care less about that detail. We’ll see who wins that battle in the end :).

Miss Pearl,

I actually just started a business doing custom wedding invitations. I would love to do up a sample for you!

if interested, you can email me at sarah@hautepapier.com and I can tell you all about my ideas. I did do a post on wedding bee not that long ago that had a ton of pictures of some invitations I have done.

p.s. I love paper source too!

Miss Pearl…When you order sample from Marsville Letterpress, do it earlier in your planning. I say this because it took several weeks to receive the sample. They are very nice though. Just so you know ;)

I love the one from “Not from a Box”. What style is it or what is the title? I couldn’t find it on their website?

I love the “Not from a Box”, I just wish they didn’t have a minimum of 70 requirement.

I emailed Marsville a while ago to ask them to start designing something for me. They wrote back ONCE. I sent them two emails after that, then another one letting them know how concerend I was about their lack of response. I still haven’t heard from them and I wrote my last email about a month ago. I’m not too sure what happened. It’s possible that my emails “accidentally” got filtered into the spam folder but I was still upset because I was really excited about their invitations (and prices!).
