As a sign of our unity as a couple and our infinite grownup-ness, Mr. Blueberry and I will be sending out Christmas cards for the first time! This involves the ceremonial removing of “& Miss Blueberry” and “& Mr. Blueberry” from our respective parents’ cards, and mailing out ones of our own.
Me being me, I had to DIY. So last weekend my mom and I went to Michaels for two value-packs of folded cards (25 cards and envelopes for $3.99), some Christmas-y scrapbooking paper, and a spool of very narrow, sheer red ribbon. Using Mom’s scrapbooking paper cutter, I trimmed the scrapbook paper to several 2″x3″ pieces and glued one onto the front of each folded card. Then I cut a 2″ and a 3″ length of ribbon and stuck them crossways across the scrapbooking paper. Finally, I cut more ribbon and tied a small and simple bow. I attached that at the top of the “package” and voila…a semi-3D picture of a present! Using gold ink I stamped “Merry Christmas” at the top of each card and a Christmas tree on the back of each envelope.

Then I stamped some little red snowflakes on the back of each card and wrote “made by Miss Bluberry, under the supervision of Mr. Blueberry.”

Inside the cards I wrote short personal messages (in green ink), we both signed, and stuck ‘em in the mail! It just took me a couple hours overall to do all this, and while they’re not perfect and certainly aren’t fancy, I think they’re cute enough :).
Are you sending out Christmas cards? Are you doing it alone, or with your SO/fiance/hubby?
