How To: Presentation Folders

December 4th, 2006 @ 8:42 pm by Mrs. Raspberry

This one is going to be long, but hopefully my instructions are clear enough that these will be a piece of cake to make!

I made several of these for Christmas gifts, so you will see an assortment of colors - I thought it would be more fun to see the different pairings. To start, I made a big trip to Paper Source.

You will need:
Presentation Envelopes (2)
a sheet of pretty paper
a shape cutter (fiskars)
a shape guide (fiskars)
pretty ribbon
extra paper
pencil
ruler
glue
scissors
4 bar envelopes in a coordinating color
4 bar flat cards in a coordinating color
rubber stamp initial
stamp pad
embossing gun
embossing powder (see previous post on how to emboss)

1. Get all your supplies together.

2. Start by making the pocket for business cards.

To do this, I used the Fiskars shape cutter seen above to cut the edge of a piece of gold cardstock. Then I glued around the edges of the piece while having a business card in place, as to make sure there is room for them when the glue dries.

3. Make the pencil holder using the ribbon (I used double-faced satin).

Cut a slit wide enough for your ribbon in the sides of the envelope (see pictures) and have one ribbon above the other…

4. Now make the pocket for the stationery.

folder-2.JPG

I cut a slit 4 1/4’’β€š¬? long using the fiskars tool again.

Then, cut a piece of card stock to be the back of the slot for the stationery as seen in the pictures below…

Put glue around the edges, but not on the bottom. Leave enough space for the stationery once the glue dries…

5. Now make the slip pretty…

Here are two options…

6. Prepare the background pretty paper…

folder-8.JPG

I cut them to be exactly the height of the folder (11.5’’β€š¬?) and about 14’’β€š¬? wide.

7. Then insert the paper as seen below.

8. When doing the above step, the flap from one of the envelopes is going to show on the outside and the other will be hidden. I put the flap on the back of the folder. It is important to set this up when doing the above step.

Then glue the flap on the back..

9. Now it is time for all of the fun decorations…

I put a little note with ’’β€š¬…”if found, please return to’’β€š¬? on the top left corner…

10. Then I put a little decoration on the front of each. (I just cut out a piece of each pretty paper)

11. Finally, I stamped the 4 bar flat cards with the person’s initial then embossed it.

Finished product in blue…

And purple.

This would be a fun gift for your bridesmaids. You could even place a bridesmaid newsletter inside them!
