About Mrs. Pearl

STDs are tough.

I have no idea where to get started. Do we do magnets or postcards? Cards or just a website announcement? Design it myself or use pre-designed templates? Include hotel information or not? When I think about it, you can almost hear my brain starting to whistle like an overworked tea kettle.

One idea I had was to make postcards from Amazing Mail. When a friend of mine was in the Middle East a couple of years ago, I used to send him postcards using this service (as a friendly tip, Amazing Mail is free to be sent to those at an APO/FPO).

You can use a .jpg to create personalized postcards. The postcards are of good quality and make pretty faithful reproductions of the pics. If you are skilled with Photoshop, Powerpoint, or any graphic editing program, it’s easy to create your “picture” as essentially a collage of images laid on top of one another to create the postcard. The best part is that you can upload your guest list and AmazingMail will send the postcards straight to their destination. The cost per postcard decreases as you purchase more postcards. For the one sample one I purchased, it cost about a dollar, including the postage price! Not bad at all!

For 100-249 Classic sized postcards, which have a border around the graphic (basically 4 x 6), it costs $0.92 per card. For 100-249 Standard postcards which are full-bleed (5.5 x 8.5), it is $1.30 a piece. Oh, and I just noticed…they also offer color trifold brochures and photo cards (like one would get from Shutterfly).

If you’re already married, they’re still totally useable, too! You can create a design, then schedule a mailing for later…so while you’re still in wedding mode, create your Christmas card with a wedding pic and then post it to be mailed during the winter months. Perfect for those who like to be ahead of the game when it comes to planning…like me!

I used postcards from Vistaprint.com.
Some got lost and never made it to some of my guests. So I recommend envelopes for your postcards.
These are mine that me and a friend made:
