Knot Bio Help

December 7th, 2006 @ 12:23 pm by Mrs. Emerald

For any ladies who have made a bio on theknot.com, can you please tell me what program you used? A lot of Chicago knotties use the St. Louis bio builder, but I’m just wondering what other ones are out there which are easy and free. The St. Louis one looks easy enough, but it’s not all that exciting, heh heh. Then again, I’m not particularly brilliant when it comes to web-related stuff… but I would like a nice bio Thanks, ladies..

I highly recommend using NVU. It’s a free downloable program. Just like using MS word. MrsPresley’s planning bio has very good instructions. Click on the bio help banner at the top http://talk.theknot.com/boards/User/Profile.aspx?UserID=2984

I second NVU. I personally find is much much better and more user-friendly than STLBioBuilder (and I’m from STL, haha!) and knottie MrsPresley’s tip sheet for using it makes it super easy.

i used knotbio.info for my first. the free one is basic.

i used adobe golive and macromedia dreamweaver mx, which are both expensive wysiwyg programs, then copied the html code into the “about me” box.

i meant to say that knotbio.info is basic, but pretty straightforward, easy to use, and overall good if you don’t know too much html.

You can use any html editing program to make the code to put in your bio so if you have frontpage on your computer you can use that or a free program like http://www.evrsoft.com/1stpage3.shtml

HTML is really easy there are several bios on the specialty bio list that have tips. I started a webpage myself to compile some of that info, I haven’t had time to finish it yet. http://www.geocities.com/mross711/wedding/htmlontheknot.html

I used Microsoft FrontPage to build mine.

You can use any HTML editing program (or write your own code). I’d rather use Dreamweaver, which I prefer but do not own, but FrontPage came with Office.
