My Backup

December 7th, 2006 @ 3:19 pm by Mrs. Emerald

::EDIT::

With the help of a weddingbee reader Joy who double checked nordstrom.com, my Calvin Kleins are now available in my size and color! I just placed the order and am soooo excited. :) You know the crazy thing is though, I’ve never even tried on these shoes. What if they hurt like heck? What if they don’t fit right? Then I’ve just been lusting over them for nothing. haha *fingers crossed* But I’ll have to keep my backup shoes too - at $11.89, it wouldn’t be worth it to return them! :D

~~~
Shoes, of course!
I have been on the prowl for these Calvin Klein Milan’s in Gold, size 5.5 for over three weeks now.
No one has it in stock (zappos, shoes.com, etc.). Maybe they have a 5.5, but it’s in black. Or they have it in Gold, but it’s a 6.5. What’s the dealio?? I actually called CK’s distribution center and they said they have the Gold 5.5 Milan’s sitting in their warehouse. All Nordstrom or Lord & Taylor has to do is special order them. But when I asked both stores, they say they don’t do special orders! *sniff sniff* Gonna try their personal shopping dept next…
But in the meantime, I found a pair of backup shoes, and they actually look pretty darn cute.
You can’t beat the price - $11.89 at Amazon! They are Unlisted by Kenneth Cole, which I personally think are fairly comfortable. Maybe I would add a sparkly shoe clip to make them dressier. And with a 3.5 inch heel, they are also the perfect height for me! Not sure if the color will go with my champagne sash though…
That’s weird that Nordstroms says they don’t special order - my friend has special ordered shoes from them before. But your back up pair are adorable and would look great with a sparkly shoe clip!
I can see they are a bit lighter than the CK’s, but your sash and your feet will not be right next to each other, so the color difference probably won’t be too noticeable. I can see why you want the CK’s, though; they are super cute! Good luck in your search for them!
I am not sure if it makes a difference, but you can check online at http://www.dillards.com for the CK shoes. I don’t think you can order the 5.5 online, but they might special order them for you. The best part? They are on sale for $89.99! BTW, Dillards is a midwest department store. Good luck!
Tali, here is the link to the Unlisted shoes, I think they are called “Pure Match.” They also have them in a FABULOUS deep plum color for $11.89 which I was tempted to buy as well (sp cheap!) … but what would I do w/purple shoes??
Miss Emerald - thanks sooo much for the info. Just found my dress, and while it’s not ordered yet, can’t pass up this offer. And to answer your question, at $11.99, what would you NOT do with the fabulous plum shoes???!!!??? :)
