I have to admit, after I saw those really cool paper flower lantern/pomanders by KenzieKate featured on WeddingBee a while back, I went straight to Paper-Source’s website to order a flower-making kit.

(tutorial from KenzieKate)
Because it would have been rather pricey to buy multiple kits, I just ordered one kit of the different flowers to get the pattern they used - 1 classic magnolia (this was the closest to my wedding colors) and 1 orchid kit.
Here’s what I made so far:

Finally, I got tired of making the magnolias (*warning* they’re VERY time consuming… you have to cut out each petal one by one in that wavy shape) and decided to make up some flowers of my own.
I made this one by “quilling” the paper - rolling up each “petal” very tightly then gently pulling them back out. I’ll make a “how-to” later when I have more time.
For future reference, I would definitely buy some of those craft scissors with the special edges instead of manually cutting all of the rounded edges. Let’s just say I had many hand cramps and had to take a lot of breaks.
Did anyone else do this?
