Beehive

December 8th, 2006 @ 12:34 pm by Beehive

In today’s beehive:

  • Tristan wants to know how she can find out the style name of her Maggie Sottero dress. She tried contacted the site with no luck, and thinks it’s a Zoe.
  • ct wants to know how you get upgrades on your honeymoon (hotel, etc.) without announcing that you’re on your honeymoon everywhere you go.
  • Jen wants to know the cheapest place to buy Chinese lanterns. She doesn’t need the bulbs - only the lantern itself.
  • JS is having an engagement party and wants to have guests write their addresses to make the invitation process easier. She was thinking about using a rolodex - do you have any other ideas?

To add your question to the beehive, leave a comment below and we’ll update this post to include your question. See all past beehives here.

If you want to get inspiration for your wedding photos, visit the WPJA - Wedding Photo Journalist Association. Find the photographers in your state that are members and view recent contests. The photos are beautiful! I found this site too late!

How do you get upgrades on your honeymoon (hotel and other)? I don’t feel comfortable announcing “we’re on our honeymoon!” everywhere we go.

I have a question for the beehive…where is the cheapest place to get chinese lanterns? I don’t need the lighting kit, just the lantern itself.

Regarding the addresses…

I saw (in a bio) a couple place a typewriter out at a reception so guests could type messages; idea would work for an engagement party and addresses. (Plus you will not have to worry if people have hard to read hand writing.)

Tristan:
On the Maggie Sottero website, click on the ‘collection’ tab. Then do a keyword search for Zoe. If that’s not what your dress looks like front and back, I guess you can just go through the pages of dresses until you find it.

Jen, I bought my paper lanterns from asianideas.com. They have a variety of sizes and colors, plus their prices are great.

Did you try Pearl River Mart for the lanterns? They seem to be dirt cheap for most things.

I LOVE the “genie shape” lanterns in the different shades of pink. So pretty. Pearl River has so many colors, sizes and shapes. And if you’re in the NYC area, the store is a lot of fun. I love their little silk bags, I have several and I use them to organize my briefcase–makeup in one, medication in another, tampons in another… Good luck! I love the look of lanterns at a wedding. Very romantic, at a very reasonable cost.

Hey everyone
I have a question that does not seem to have ever been addressed. What kind of lipstick do you use so that it doesn’t smear during the big kiss? I am worried that if I use lip gloss or lipstick, it will come off on my fiance when we kiss during the ceremony. Are lip stains more advisable? Thanks.
