Open Question: Venue Help

December 12th, 2006 @ 11:41 am by Open Question

Hello. I am having a really hard time making a decision on our venue. I have been reading all the blogs on weddingbee for over a month now and was hoping you guys could help. I really love Falkners Winery in Temecula, but the only problem is that they hold 2 weddings at the same time. Each wedding would be in their own area on their own “side” but I still feel uncomfortable with it. Our wedding would be in their new facility (the Pinnacle).

I am concerned with a few issues…for example, if the other wedding started later then ours, then we would see cars driving up throughout our ceremony (as the “sides” are only separated by the parking lot). Is it ridiculous that I want it to be my day and not have to see any other brides or wedding parties? We want to get married in Sept. 2007 so time to find a venue is running out and I’m running out of options. Any ideas on how to handle this? Thanks!

Tina

I can completely understand your concern regarding dual weddings taking place. I would take great care to ask the venue a few questions. Namely, 1) how separate are the two weddings? 2) what kind of guarantee do they have that the other wedding won’t have a mariachi band going on that will ruin your ceremony? 3) has the other side been booked and can you correspond with the other bride? (if you two can chat, maybe you can work out some of the issues). If not, will they provide you with details regarding the other wedding and how soon after it is booked? 4) is there a former bride who would be willing to talk with you about whether the other wedding affected her wedding?

I would find these issues to be very concerning as well, but you shouldn’t hesitate to ask questions and get information!

I agree with n about finding out as much as possible. Maybe the venue will let you come on a day (or multiple days) that there are 2 simultaneous weddings so you can see for yourself how it sounds and how it works out.
