Bows

December 15th, 2006 @ 11:46 am by Mrs. Blueberry

If you’re like me, you can’t tie a pretty bow to save your life.

Here is one of my previous attempts:

Yes, I know. It looks like the bouquet has sprouted stubby arms and is trying desperately to fly to freedom.

Obviously this would not do. So I went online and discovered these simple instructions on Save On Crafts’ site, and in no time at all I’ll be making beautiful bows for Christmas presents, my bouquets, and whatever else I decide to adorn!

Here is their finished product:

It looks like wired ribbon will help you make the bow “fluffier.”

Of course, there are many styles of bows out there.

Elegance In Bloom offers instructions for this bow, which would look gorgeous on chair backs:

And last but not least, Offray has instructions for several different types of bows, no matter what your needs.

You can be sure I’ll try several of these when I’m back in KC with my bouquets, and I promise to let you know how it turns out.

hi miss blueberry~ what kind of ribbon have/will you use? if you haven’t tried the wired ribbons, i recommend those. i’ve seen them in both sheer and cloth like the ones in the pictures. but yeah, they help you maintain a more fuller shape so it’s not so droopy. unless you were going for the droopy effect… i love how your bouquet is so unique!

Miss Peach–thanks for bringing that up! My ribbon for the bouquets is wired, so no worries there. For my chair bows, I think I’ll use a thick satin ribbon, like pictured above.

Glad you like my bouquet–I love it too!! That’s my MOH’s bouquet in the pic, btw–mine is larger and fuller.
