Getting veiled up by Adolfo, my *amazing* hair stylist.
Getting ready the day of my wedding was an absolutely wonderful experience. I slept in my suite at the Pierre the night before the wedding, which was wonderful. I didn’t have to worry about packing up and getting anywhere on my wedding day (all of the frantic/panicked packing occurred the night before as I rushed to get checked into the hotel prior to the rehearsal). All I had to do was wake up, order room service:

My $50 “healthy breakfast. (It was a total rip-off, but I figured I could splurge on my wedding day!)
And then wait for my mom, bridesmaids, planner (Jennifer, the Wedding Library), hair (Adolfo/Paul LaBrecque), and makeup (Laura Nadeau) to arrive.
Hair: Adolfo Plego of Paul LaBrecque (East Side location):
My hair was the first endeavor and Adolfo and his assistant were *genius* and wonderful to have around. I adore Adolfo anyway, but he was such a pleasure to have around on my wedding day. We had done a couple of trials, working from a Felicity Huffman updo that I’d coveted. We made it work with my longer hair (although I went under the scissors the week before the wedding to lose some hair weight so the updo wouldn’t be too heavy on my head. My hair grows pretty fast so I wasn’t too concerned about the snip.)
The funny, charming and oh-so-talented, Adolfo did hair for me, my sister (MOH), my mom, and touch ups on my other MOH, the Bean, as well as my two bridesmaids–all of whom had hair done elsewhere but wanted a revamp. Although we had only thought Adolfo would be doing hair for my mom, sister and me, he rose to the occasion and had everyone done with time to spare. Moreover, everyone was thrilled with how their hair turned out and I could not recommend Adolfo more. (He even hit the guys’ hotel room and tweaked Mr. Daisy’s ‘do as well as some of the groomsmen’s hair. Adolfo Pliego of Paul LaBrecque: A+++

The finished product:

Makeup: Laura Nadeau
As discussed more than once before, Laura is insanely awesome. Somehow she makes me look better than I even hoped to look, every time she touches makeup to my face. She is a pleasure to be around and you can’t not love her.* Laura did all the girls, plus my mom, finishing up with me so my makeup would be “fresh.” We all looked like knock-outs (not that I’m totally biased), but we all still looked like ourselves. Laura is everything you could want in a makeup artist. She’s so good her trial was free– that’s how confident she is (so deservedly) in her work. Love love love her! Laura Nadeau: A+++
This is how I looked before Laura made me up:

* since the wedding, Adolfo even got her info from us so he could work with her again!
