I’m also using the birdcage for my wedding. I found the cutest poem to go with it at the reception. Maybe you other brides might be interested.

The Bridal Birdcage
In this cage you will find, wishes others left behind. Our bride and groom have long since built their nest and monetary gifts would help them best. They have their sheets and pots and pans, the perfect gift is in your hands. Like the wishing well you write down your wishes, and then in place of bowls and dishes; you search your heart for the right amount to share, seal the envelope and place it here. Once they’ve replaced the old with the new they’ll be able to say it was because of you.
