About Mrs. Lily

You guys were all so great about answering my last invitation question, I thought I would pose two others that Mr. Lily and I have.

First, what amount of time do most brides and grooms give their guests to RSVP? 3 weeks? A month? I have no idea!

Second, do you line the inner or outer envelope? I think inner, but I just wanted to make sure…

THANK YOU ALL!

for the rsvp, we gave a month and a day’s time to respond. make sure you check with your caterer to insure enough time for a head count.

I had heard the deadline should be 2 weeks before your wedding. That’s enough time to give to your caterer for a final headcount.

We’re also be giving our guests one month before our wedding date. This should be a nice cushion.

I think we’re going to give a month, because we need at least one week before the wedding to turn in the final count (as told to us by the caterer).

we sent ours about a month ahead of time, but with destination weddings, you could send them up to 8 weeks in advance.

wedding is in july. but we have a lot of out-of-town guests so we figure we’ll send it out mid-march for an RSVP of 1st wk of May; hopefully this will give us time for a B-list (if any. we sent out save-the-dates, and few have sent regrets. in fact, a big handful already bought their plane tix) since we need a final headcount by 2wk of july.

We’re getting married on Sept. 8th (destination wedding of sorts - 300 miles away) and are planning on mailing the invitations in May with a RSVP date of the 1st week in July to give us time with the B-List. If any, the second round RSVP will be Aug. 1st. Our STD’s are going out right after New Year’s.
