Failure to… Fit

December 18th, 2006 @ 12:58 pm by Mrs. Emerald

Last week I received both pairs of shoes that I ordered for the wedding. I had a really hard time getting my hands on these fab CK shoes in gold and size 5.5.

And I even purchased these cute, cheapie Kenneth Cole Unlisted shoes for $12 on Amazon so that I would have “back-ups.”

Well go figure that both shoes are too tight around the front, and the material will not stretch. Apparently shoe designers assume that if your feet are small enough to wear 5.5, your feet should also be slim and dainty. Sad is the poor girl with small, wide feet. Grrr… but dayum, the CKs are soooo gorgeous in person!! They looked amazing on my feet, but hurt like a mutha after standing less than 5 minutes. The other shoes were cute, but pinched around the toes as well… *sigh*

So I’ll return the CKs to Nordstroms and give the Unlisteds to my Matron of Honor who has the same size (albeit slimmer) feet so she can wear them for my wedding. Back to shoe shopping, although I think I will have to wait a few months until stores update their selection because I’ve seen everything already…

Why not ask Nordstroms if they can stretch it out for you? I bought a pair of shoes there once and they “stretched” it out for me in the back. I have no idea what they did, but it worked.

That’s annoying! I have an extremely wide foot as well (just call me duckfoot) and I know the disappointment well!
