Open Question: Children’s Gifts

December 18th, 2006 @ 12:08 pm by Open Question

Hi there,

I am looking for some advice on what to get some children attendees of our cruise destination wedding as a welcome gift. I’d like the gifts to be under $7 each. I have purchased high quality beach towels for the adults, but don’t think the younger set would be too thrilled with a towel. :) They range in age from 4-8, and they are all little girls. Any creative ideas would be greatly appreciated. :) Thanks!

A DW bride to be

Some gear for the pool would be great for the kids like floating toys, buckets, squirters. I am sure you can get things like that at Target for under $7.

Yes! i know they have kiddie goggles, with fun accents on the rim. I bought a pair for someone’s kids a few years ago and it was a great hit!

Can be found at target or walmart.

like everyone mentioned - pool toys are probably your best bet. kickboards, maybe a snorkel mask/goggkes, water guns… kids love swimming! :)

Maybe a cute “beach” set, like a cheap tote bag, cute sunglasses and some flip flops. You could probably try 99 cents stores and maybe Michael’s or Joann’s.

Give theme a disposable (maybe even waterproof) camera, some sun glass, a water gun. The kids can take photos for their trip and look at them 20 years from now and try to figure out why they took that photo.

I’m not sure what cruiseline you are using, but I think some of them have gamerooms. Maybe you could get them a card with X number of dollars on it for them to use during the Days at Sea. Or they can have vouchers to purchase whatever they want at the shops/dessert stands.

little girls always love dolls…
so if you could find an inexpensive bridal doll maybe? they could even play with it in the pool ;-)

I LOVE the camera idea!

At my wedding we made kids bags, and while we weren’t on a cruise, all the kids loved them. We had those funny nose/eyebrow Groucho Marx glasses, snacks and a juice box, those ice cream foam poppers, and the “fart noise” cups of goo. We got everything from Oriental Trading Co. and the bags were a HUGE hit!
