Unexpected Color

December 18th, 2006 @ 5:25 pm by Mrs. Strawberry

According to About.com, one of the top 10 wedding trends of 2006, is color in unexpected places. For those of you who are a little shy about having a deep red wedding dress or a light pink one for that matter–there are other ways to incorporate color into your wedding day. It can be as easy as dying your crinoline!

Knottie, PaulsGirlie, has step by step instructions on how to do it yourself.

I just love the results! I think a light pink might be in order for my wedding day! Check out these brides and their super pretty colored crinolines! :)

I am a fan of the color underwear, too. :-) I think that’ll be my something blue.

Pretty! Even brightly colored shoes or a barette would be pretty for those that are a little less bold on the color idea.

I dyed my crinoline pink. :) If you don’t want the chance that your washing machine is permanently dyed, you may want to use a huge rubbermaid container. It worked well for me - I did pre-wash and did the final rinse of the crinoline in the washing machine.

my crinoline is attached to my dress too, and i don’t think my dress looks good with two crinolines. i guess my something blue will have to be a handkerchief!

What type of material can be used to dye the crinoline? I am worried about purchasing one that isn’t going to hold the color.

That’s a nice idea and all, but there’s no such thing as “dying” something. The correct term is “dyeing.”
Have a good, grammatically correct day.
