Fireflies + Pink Paper = Yay!

December 19th, 2006 @ 12:45 pm by Mrs. Lime

After flying in from Down Under on Friday then manning the guest book and gift table at a friend’s wedding on Saturday (recap and photos to come), I had a lovely Christmas brunch at Firefly Bistro with some friends. Very cute restaurant, by the way. The whole “interior” is tented, cute Modern feel, yummy brunch menu, and the drinks looked great, too! But this little piggy digresses from the wedding-related, yet again…

There were many goodies at our brunch, but one of the best was wedding-related and involved paper. One brunch-y friend of mine has recently started up a delicious paper business (paper is always delicious…what?). Another brunch-y friend happened to be planning a bridal shower for a friend and needed invites, so there ya go! I tend to have very specific taste (but can appreciate well-designed things not to my taste) and am very picky about papery things, but I was thorougly impressed by these invites and my friend, despite the fact that I have had previous glimpses of her talent.

These photos definitely do not do the work justice. She’s also a fellow blogger, but a stealth one at that. Check our her business blog at pinkpaperdesigns. If anyone needs wedding (or any other occasion) stationery created/assembled, contact Jenny at pinkpaperdesigns@gmail.com, and let her know Miss Lime sent you!

These are great - thanks for posting! I’m always looking for unique invitation ideas and it looks like Jennie’s on the right track.

Also BTW & unrelated, the link to Firefly should be: eatatfirefly.com

That’s very cute stuff…pink being my favorite color, maybe I’ll email her on that basis alone (cleevr name). ;-)

Pink Paper Design is going to be a success by the looks of those invitations. Very pretty and sweet.

Isn’t the gold invite a Paper Source kit?

I recognize a lot of that card stock as being from Paper Source, too. If I were employing someone to design my invites, they’d better be pretty inexpensive if they look like something I could do myself from Paper Source.

Wow, really fabulous stuff. Great design, great style, she’s really got talent. Really cute family in that last invite, too!

They are absolutely beautiful.

Yes the cardstock looks like it’s from Paper Source. I am not that creative enough if given the material from there to get an end result like Pink Paper Designs. Truly talented

I wish I was having a party so that I can have her make some invites for me.

the business tagline is indeed, “fun, creative invitations and cards for those who suffer from free-time deficiency.”

as others have noted, almost everyone has access to papersource & co., but not everyone has access or the time to an eye for design and pulling it all together.

Seriously, who cares if it comes from Paper Source or other paper supply stores? I own a computer service company because not everyone can fix their own computer. I know people that own law practices, autoglass shops and gift basket stores because not everyone knows every facet of the law, how to install a new windshield or assemble a nice gift basket.

Jenny - I love your products…so cute!

A bit of clarification:

Yes, a lot of the supplies I use are from Paper Source. Yes, it’s not exactly rocket science to take a trip to PS and pick up the stuff yourself. Although not everyone has the time or patience to put it all together. That’s where I come in.

:)

I think Jenny at Pink Paper Designs has an eye for combining paper products creatively for an end product that everyone will love. Her services are going to save me a lot of time and headache when I need some really nice invitations or cards made for my next event.

Where were you earlier this year when I was planning my wedding?!?

Love all the invites!! I’m glad to see that she’s using PS supplies since I love their stuff but definitely do not have the creativity nor the patience and time to put anything together myself.

Thanks for the nifty recommendation Miss Lime!

I am hosting a baby shower for my little sis and paid Paper Source a visit. I don’t know about you, but I felt completely overwhelmed. I didn’t know where to start. Needless to say I walked out having purchased not one single item. Can we say “I need help.”

off to search for Jenny at Pink Paper Designs.

I didn’t say that using Paper Source products was a bad thing–I’m using mostly their stock and products for my own invites and save the dates, in fact. Just that Pink Paper should not be very expensive if they’re using a Paper Source kit. Buying a Paper Source kit, printing the text, and assembling the invitations is not in the same category as, say, KenzieKate’s invitations, which are very expensive and deservedly so. That’s all I meant. (I’m assuming that Pink Paper Designs didn’t show the gold Paper Source kit as their own design, other than the text, but as an example of work they could produce.)

BTW, it’s not difficult to make your own invitations, just time-consuming. It’s probably easier than some of you think. I made my own Christmas cards this year as a dry run to see if I could do my own wedding invites, and I was pleasurably surprised by how fun it was to be creative. But if you’re an extremely busy person, paying someone else to do it for you is a good option.

If you have time to do your own Christmas cards, more power to you.

For those of us who work 60-80 hours a week, DIY is not an option. I would much rather sleep in my spare time than deal with paper, scissors, and glue. That doesn’t sound the least bit pleasurable to me.

PPD is an inexpensive, convenient alternative for busy peeps. It’s not a hoity-toity design studio, and it’s not marketing itself as such. Tagline says it all: “fun, creative invitations and cards for those who suffer from free-time deficiency.”
